The sheer desperation in her voice cut straight to Selena’s heart. She knew exactly how Alexa felt. Family meant everything to Selena, and she couldn’t blame anyone for wanting to hold onto the last bit of theirs. Plus, she had this gut feeling that Alexa was telling the truth.

Taking a deep breath, Selena asked, "Where are you right now?"

In a whisper, Alexa replied, "I’m at the hospital. I managed to slip into the restroom when the bodyguards weren’t watching. I borrowed someone’s phone; they’re already looking for me, and the OR is set. I can’t hold out much longer."

"Alright, stay put. I’ll send someone to get you. You can crash at my place in Newport, okay?"

Alexa let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you."

Once she hung up, Selena called Holt into the room.

"Miss, what do you need?" Holt asked as he stepped in.

"You’ve worked with Blaine before, right? The bodyguards should listen to you?" Selena inquired.

Holt looked a bit confused. "They do, but why?"

Selena quickly laid out the plan. "I’ll ring Blaine to keep him occupied. I need you to pass off some orders from him. Get the bodyguards you trust to escort Alexa to the airport and book a private jet to bring her to Newport."

Holt was taken aback. "This is..."

"Just do it. I’ll deal with Blaine. If this kid might be his, I’m helping him, too," Selena said confidently.
