Kayden walked out of the kindergarten with a heart full of excitement. The driver was already waiting for him.

Once inside the car, he couldn't wait and immediately instructed the driver to take him to the hospital.

Half an hour later, the car arrived, and he ran to the director's office. "Mr. Foster, are the results out yet?" His high-pitched voice sounded, filled with an urgency that couldn't be hidden.

David instantly froze. "It's you, Kayden."

He hurried to get up and greet him, sweat beading on his forehead. "Well… Kayden, I have to tell you something. You see, I'm afraid I won't be able to give you the results of the DNA test today as promised. The testing center caught fire today due to some old equipment. The wiring burned out, which was the cause of the fire. The reports and machines were all destroyed, so the test results have turned to ashes..."

Kayden froze, his expression blank. "What? The test results are... gone?"

David awkwardly nodded. "Yes, I'm really sorry... No one expected such an accident."

Kayden's pupils trembled, and he immediately looked heartbroken. He had been waiting for so long to get his hands on the test results, but they were gone?

Tears began to well up in his eyes. He had been so close to knowing if the beautiful ma'am was his mother. Why did such an incident happen?
