"I won't let anyone bully Riri." Aaron had to promise to his parents-in-law first to ensure they trust him to let Riri continue the marriage with him. If his parents-in-law didn't believe him, he would have no chance to stay with Rita anymore. "I assure you. I never did and will never do anything to betray my wife."
Rita sighed. She had a deep feeling of helplessness when it came to the matters of Aaron's parents and Kaley's pregnancy.
"As to the matter of Kaley, I will surely settle that." Aaron held out his hand to Rita and he looked at his wife firmly. He did not want to say too much for it was useless to do so. He should solve these problems as soon as possible, and proved with actual actions that he only loved Rita for the rest of his life.
"Okay." Rita nodded and handed her hand to her husband.
She trusted Aaron. Being her husband, he never let her down, and of course would not disappoint her this time.
"Dad, mom, I believe Aaron. It's all old stories about his past. I know how much he loved me after we got married, and he treated me very well. You both saw it. I hope this matter will not turn you to lose confidence in him. I hope you have confidence in your daughter, in our relationship and in our marriage, as well. I know you do everything just for my good, but I have my own judgment. I think Aaron is a good husband."
Grace and Jack exchanged a look with each other. Grace felt sorry for her daughter, and reached out hands to touch Rita's face. "Riri, you have always been very tough and did not want us to worry about you. But since you married into the Leng family, bad things happened one after another. Your father and I have been very worried about you," said Grace while crying. "Any parents would be willing to see their children live a safe and sound life. It doesn't matter whether you have money or not. As long as you are happy, we will support you whatever you do."
As long as her daughter truly loved Aaron and held a good relationship with him, Grace thought that being parents, they would certainly support the child.
Rita almost cried out. She was heartbroken to see her mother being worried about her but still support her.
"Mom, don't worry. I will be okay," Rita held her mother's hand and comforted her.
It seemed that Kaley had made a scene, which made Jack and Grace hold a bad impression of Aaron. They thought much more, were more worried about her and saw more far sighted than Rita did.
After Aaron and Rita left the Gu family house, Grace sat on the sofa, tears trickling down her face. "My dear Riri, you are so silly. You are such a silly girl."
Jack was silent without giving responses. If it were in the past, he would say some right words for the sake of Aaron as he knew Aaron treated Rita well and the fact that it was the Gu family which flattered the Leng family with their marriage. But this time, even Jack did not want to help Aaron.
"It's hard for a person to change his nature. I'm afraid that Aaron may cheat on Riri and hurt her in the future." With tears rolling down her face, Grace continued, "I wouldn't say these words in front o her. She is still young, and she doesn't think that there is still a long way ahead. It's just on the spur of the moment for Aaron to get married with Riri. What if he meets a better woman one day and doesn't want her anymore? What should we do?"
Jack sighed. The most terrible thing between couples is the matter of unequal position. If husband and wife couldn't stay equal, the problem would always exist.
"We need to have a serious talk with Riri when we have a chance."
