Bailey's pov
I was smart enough to not be so close to her as she made her way to the bathroom. I didn't want her to see that I followed her in here, fearing she may make a beeline for somewhere else.
I waited for five minutes before entering the bathroom.
I can hear her shifting around in the cubicle and I closed the door behind me lightly, leaning my back against it so she won't have anywhere to leave. We needed to talk and if this was the lengths I had to take to get my best friend back, I'd do it.
As I try to wait for her to be done, I took this as moment to gather my thoughts and think of a way to speak to her. My eyes locked on the cold tiles, raking my brain for ways to get through to Mira.
This can be the best chance and how many chances can I get after this? It had to be done now.
The sound of the flushing and gurgling of water pulled me out of my thoughts and made my heart race. I waited, not patient at all as I scratch my arms in anticipation. I am uncertain of where this will go, but I know that today I will make her hear me.
When the door creaked open, I straighten and the determination almost withered away when our eyes met. She isn't startled at all to see me standing here waiting for her.
Ignoring me she walks up to the sink and opens the pipe.
" Mirabella."
She stiffens but doesn't respond.
I let out a breath. " You know I won't let this friendship go. You're my best friend Mira."
She closed the pipe, but her eyes remain on her reflection and her hand is still clutching the poor faucet in a tight grip. " Was I your best friend when you slept with my brother, got into a relationship with him behind my back and didn't tell me about it until I found out on my own?"
She turns to me, her eyes hard.
" Mira-
" I get it. You were scared to tell me about it. I get that part. But do you know how fucking betrayed I felt knowing you constantly lied to me? Especially that same day I caught you two." She shook her head in disappointment. " I saw you, I ask you and you still decided to lie to me. You know why I didn't call that night to remind you of the sleepover at your place?"
