After seeing Joe off, William felt much happier.
He intended to go downstairs to look for Roe.
Then he saw his mother Mrs. Lucia, who had always been around Roe and had never gone out even once since she came to Jin’an City. She had dressed up nicely, seeming to go out.
William raised his eyebrows, “Is my dad coming? Are you going to see him?”
Mrs. Lucia rolled her eyes towards him, “I will see an old friend who you do not know.”
“Well.” William was not interested.
He turned to Roe, “I will take you to do the checkup.”
Roe nodded his head submissively, but his eyes became dour after a while, “Dad, when will mum come to pick me up?”
Mrs. Lucia took a glance at William to see his reaction. Roe had asked this question for more than once.
William responded calmly, “Very soon.”
Roe was not satisfied with this answer.
Roe pouted, with his head low. It was not known what he was thinking about.
William patted Roe’s head. At this moment, people would pity these two, as both of them were abandoned by that woman.
Mrs. Lucia was seeing an old friend. It had been a very long time since they met last time. So they were not as familiar as they used to be. This was why they wanted to meet this time. After all, it was rare for Mrs. Lucia to come back to Jin’an.
There were so many people with whom Mrs. Lucia made friends in this city. She was happy to have one more friend.
But seeing that Angie was standing behind her old friend, the color in her eyes changed a little.
“Mrs. Lucia. What a coincidence. The good friend Aunty Zora is talking about is you.” Angie pretended to be surprised and said.
Zora looked at the two, “It turns out that you know each other. I intended to introduce you to one another.”
Mrs. Lucia smiled a bit. Her tone of voice was neither hostile nor friendly, “I have seen Angie several times. Do you two come here together?”
Her eyes seemed to examine them while she was saying these words.
Zora started to panic. She was thinking whether she had done something wrong.
She heard about the hearsay that Angie was going to marry William, which was why she would like to help when Angie asked her for help.
Although she was a friend to Mrs. Lucia many years ago, there was some estrangement between them right now. After all, so many years had passed and her husband was not in the same social status as Mrs. Lucia’s. She had other thoughts, not just to meet an old friend.
It would not be wrong to fawn on the Lu Family.
But seeing Mrs. Lucia’s facial expression, Zora felt something wrong.
“Not really. I came here earlier, and I met Angie. She is beautiful and smart. I like her very much since she was a little kid. So I kept her here with me.”
Angie furrowed her eyebrows, knowing that Zora had changed her mind. A light fierceness flashed between Angie’s eyes.
It was a waste of so much money.
Zora was a woman who sailed with the wind.
It was not easy for Angie to see Mrs. Lucia, so she would stay there for quite a while.
Angie pretended that she did not get Zora’s point. She smiled, “Mrs. Lucia, it must be a long time since you went shopping here last time. I am very familiar with here, and I can be a tour guide for you. Do you have anything you want to buy here?”
“It is fun to go shopping. We buy what we like, without any certain goal. You are too young to go with us. We are buying clothes for old women. You will not like it.” Mrs. Lucia said.
It was kind of hard for Angie to maintain her smile. She shook her head, “I always go shopping with my mum. I am very experienced...”
“Well. Angie, it occurs to me that your mother is playing cards at the neighborhood. Aren’t you going to see her?” Zora had got Mrs. Lucia’s intention to let Angie leave.
This was why she said so.
If she let Angie be with them, she was afraid that she would make Mrs. Lucia angry.
