Karthik's PoV

She is a girl of spontaneity. She knows nothing about me, but she proposed to me. Did I feel happy? No, I felt ecstatic. I was on cloud nine. But she is not meant for me. My life is done and dusted for good. 

I must tell her about me. But my ego doesn’t want to let her know what happened in my life. I should avoid her. I should put her away. But all my heart is with her. I love her. I never had this feeling ever before in my whole life. Never once on Nandhini. Yeah, She was my wife.

I heard a knock on the door and came back to my senses. Daksha has not come to office today. I already miss her. I said 'come in!'

Danya came in with files in her hands. She looks happy today. She is a kid. Just like her sister.

"Karthik! Do you have some time? I finished the work you gave me. Call Janani also. She is not in the room."

"Ok Danya. Sit down. I sent Janani out. Will call her."

"ok!"

I called up Janani and asked her to come ASAP.

"What is it, Danya? You know who is that black sheep in our office?"

"um...I know the black sheep Karthik. But all your employees are very loyal to you. You don't have to doubt them."

"Then who is it? How the hell did they get our quotation amount when it was just me, Rishi and Janani only knew it. I don’t leave any documents on the office computers. No paper documents except the sealed one. I totally believe in Janani."

"Come in, Janani. Danya says she knows who betrayed us."

"You found? Great Danya. Who is it? We shall file a legal case against him. We can mark it in his conduct certificate. He cannot survive anymore."

"Whoa whoa, Cool Janani. It's nobody from our office." said Danya.

"Karthik, Smirthi did this. The first tender you lost, is gone to her maternal uncle's company. The second and third tender has gone to 2 other companies that are friends with her uncle. I checked the cctv footage on all the dates you guys finalized the quotation. Smirthi was here on all 3 dates. Besides, my anna found that she has a bank account in DDB bank. The manager of that particular bank is my Anna's friend. He managed to find her account and took her transaction details. 

On the date of second tender, her bank account is credited with 10 lakhs. On the third tender, 25lakhs. This file has her bank details."

Karthik explained everything to me. Am I shocked? No! I saturated my hatred on her when Dhiwakar told me about the call. I indirectly inquired if Smirthi know lawyer uncle already. But she said no. I knew she was lying. I don’t care about these proofs. Now I'm trying hard to bring an end to this matter. 

"Karthik, Smirthi is sick. Do you remember the accident we had? She got her head hurt. We didn’t go through properly at that time. But a week before our wedding, she got a severe head-ache and I took her to the hospital. We had an MRI scan and other tests for her. She happened to hear about her test results late at our wedding night. The report said she had many blood clots on her brain, Karthik. She ran away fearing for her life. She said she ran away because she didn't wanna spoil my life."

"And you believe in all this nonsense? If she doesn’t wanna spoil your life, why the hell did she come back?"

"Karthik, I'm not stupid to believe whatever she says. After running away, she has consulted another doctor for a second opinion. He told her that there are many chances for her survival. There is only one clot that is big, and others are small. Small ones can be dissolved with medicines and for the big one, we need an operation. I went to the doctor myself and spoke with him the very next day. Whatever she said was true.

Last week, she had a very bad head-ache, in spite of taking medicines. Her friend called me in the night. I took her to the hospital. They said she has been restless. She is worried, Karthik. I told her that I am in love with my wife and I don’t want her in my life. As far as I know, that must be the reason for her restlessness. "

"So? What are you going to do?"

"I took her to Chennai to see the doctor to fix her operation date. The doctor here has helped us a lot. He says we need at least one month before surgery. All her small clots need to be cured first. Only then they can perform her surgery. She is now taking medicines for that, Karthik. I just want to make sure she is fine. The doctor says she needs to be calm and composed. Stress will make her condition worse. I will be with her until her surgery. The doctor gave 100% surety on her surgery."

"Why can’t you explain this to Danya? She is a kid, Rishi. You are totally hurting her. And what about these bank statements?"

"I know that she is inclined towards money. I knew it from the start. She comes from a poor family and she is fascinated by money. There is a 100% chance that she might have done this. So you have the full liberty to take legal action on her. I have no problem with it. But I don’t think this is the reason that she left the wedding. Also, I know I am hurting Danya. I am preparing a surprise honeymoon for us where I will confess to my feelings. I just wanna come clean before I do that. And for that I have to make sure Smirthi is fine and out of my life. One more month and Danya will be all mine. Trust me Karthik. I love her. I love her with all my heart. Now Smirthi is drinking up all my time. And I think it is for the good, I can get rid of her soon."
