Manfred's gaze remained cold as he looked at Randall and Zea, both unconscious. His expression remained unreadable. Yet, the weariness in his eyes seemed to reflect a world of sorrow, evoking a sudden pang of sympathy in Vivian.
She moved closer to him, her voice soft. "I've taken care of them for you. They'll be bedridden for days after the scare I gave them."
At her words, Manfred's eyes shifted. He smiled warmly at Vivian.
The maids, who had been slow to react, now panicked as they realized the situation. "Mr. Randall! Mrs. Atkinson!"
"Hurry! Call the doctor!"
"Quickly!"
Amid the chaos, Manfred took Vivian's hand and led her away. They then returned to his modest, secluded courtyard.
"This is the cake I told you about, the one I love the most. And this pasta is still hot; it has just been cooked. Try the pasta first, and then we'll eat the cake together."
Vivian opened the package and gestured for Manfred to sit down.
Manfred noticed there was only one serving of pasta. "Aren't you eating?"
"I had lunch earlier, so I'm not hungry. The pasta for you," she explained with a smile.
"Alright," Manfred replied, slowly eating, savoring every bite. He enjoyed everything that Vivian liked to eat.
"This is delicious, the best pasta I've ever had," Manfred said.
Vivian immediately replied, "I also think this fettuccine Alfredo is incredibly authentic."
Although Manfred hadn't eaten anything today and was a bit hungry, he ate slowly, savoring the taste. He wanted to remember this flavor so that he could make it for Vivian in the future.

More chapters please...
Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
