My Four Miraculous Treasures novel Chapter 264

Willow paused as if she had a frog stuck in her throat.

She kept quiet for a while.

She assumed that Jasper was only insulting her yesterday by saying that she wouldn’t be able to excel anywhere after leaving Hughes Corporation.

To think he meant for her to return to Hughes Corporation instead!

“Willow, you can just ask me if you have any questions. I can answer you.” Tyson could sense that Willow was confused and hesitating when she didn’t respond for a while.

Willow regained her senses. She pinched her throat to clear her voice so that she sounded calm. “Mr. Ward, aren’t Goodwill Technologies and Hughes Corporation separate entities? Can they just transfer employees like this?”

“If Mr. Hughes says they can, they can,” Tyson answered.

Willow held her forehead. She knew that Jasper had absolute authority around here so his word was the law. There was nothing he couldn’t do.

For instance, making her his lover. He was so forceful that she couldn’t reject him.

“I understand. I’ll go over later,” Willow said before hanging up.

Would she ever be able to escape Jasper’s control?

It wasn’t just her love life. She couldn’t choose her own career either.

Willow felt depressed.

“Mommy, tell me. What yummy food did you dream about? I want to eat it too.” Hailey stood behind Willow and grabbed Willow’s shoulders with her chubby little hands. She leaned forward so that her cheek touched Willow’s and rubbed it coquettishly.

Willow felt a soft and bouncy sensation on her cheek that warmed her heart.

The warm and sweet feeling pulled her out of her melancholy, replacing it with joy and energy.

She lifted Hailey and put her on her lap, saying softly, “I really didn’t dream about food. Are you feeling peckish? Shall I bring you some yummy food after I get off work today?”

Her dream had been about Jasper. Jasper made her kiss him but she hesitated out of nervousness.

That annoyed Jasper, so he forcefully kissed her and bit her lip.
