My Four Miraculous Treasures novel Chapter 268

Willow stiffened before forcing herself to go in.

This wasn’t compulsory, but she thought she had to at least serve the guest something to drink.

Otherwise, she would be reprimanded for not doing well as a secretary if she didn’t treat Mr. Hughes’ friend well.

She thought of making them two cups of coffee and then leaving after putting the coffee down.

She didn’t expect to see such a scene unfold.

So this was what Yelena meant when she said she was an old friend of Jasper’s.

Willow would never have come here if she knew.

Despite the thoughts in her head, she entered with a professional smile and set the coffee down at the coffee table without looking at Jasper’s desk. “Mr. Hughes, here is your coffee. If there’s nothing else…”

She was about to excuse herself if there was nothing else, but Yelena interrupted her.

“Ms. Nason, thank you for your hospitality.” Yelena straightened up, backing away from Jasper. She smiled kindly at Willow and said, “The receptionist was really annoying and wouldn’t let me through. I wouldn’t be able to see Jasper if Ms. Nason hadn’t allowed me to pass.”

Willow was speechless.

Out of reflex, she looked at Jasper to see him glaring at her. That one pressuring look was enough to crush her weak heart.

Willow internally shuddered. “Ms. Anderson, didn’t you call Mr. Hughes before coming over?”

“I didn’t want to disturb Jasper because he’s so busy. Right, Jasper, I won’t hold you up any longer. I’ll be going now. See you next time.” Yelena gave Jasper her regards. She wanted to retreat after sensing his dangerous aura.

She left immediately after that.

Willow quickly followed suit, but Jasper called out, “Ms. Nason, stay.”

Willow stopped. She could feel cold sweat on her back.
