Preslie knew that Yesseca was forcing out her smile, and she knew that deep down inside, Yesseca must be hurt.
She didn't dare say anything more. She could only comfort Yesseca. "Yesseca, I think whatever happened between you and Tremaine was just a misunderstanding. As long as that's cleared up, then you guys can get back together again."
After a pause, she gritted her teeth and said, "To tell you the truth, I sort of asked Mr. Hawls to help us see how Tremaine felt about the whole situation. Don't worry too much, I'll help you out. Mr. Hawls will help you too. The issue between you and Tremaine will definitely be solved."
"It's all just a misunderstanding. There must have been something wrong with the soup you cooked for Montez!"
Yesseca lowered her eyes, her long and thick eyelashes trembling.
After a while, she lifted her eyes and looked at Preslie. She said, "Preslie, do you think I didn't know that something was wrong? Do you think I never felt like things were strange?"
Preslie was stunned for a moment.
"I bought the meat from the market by myself. There shouldn't be any problem. Someone must have done something to it behind my back, I know that. But the real reason why Tremaine and I are separated isn't because of the misunderstanding, but because of his distrust in me."
"He was hellbent on the fact that I was the one that did it. What he did broke my heart. Preslie, you have to know that life isn't smooth sailing all the time, it's bound to have waves and storms."
"Just like me and Tremaine, we're not compatible. He is the president of a nation while I'm just an ordinary girl. We have more misunderstandings and challenges compared to regular people."
"If a couple has complete trust in each other, then I believe that couple can go through all sorts of storms. But if trust is non-existent, then it's hard for a couple to go far."
"I was able to think through all this, and I know that Tremaine doesn't trust me anymore. Even if I'm proved to not be the culprit this time, what happens if a similar incident comes between us?"
Yesseca finally let it all out in one breath. She'd never told anyone what she really felt before.
Saying it made her feel much better.
Preslie was surprised by Yesseca's words, and it took her some time to come back to her senses.
Although she agreed with Yesseca, she still felt like it was regretful.
After all, Yesseca and Tremaine had had such a great relationship together. They had gone through a lot to get together. How can they just be separated that easily?
Preslie was still trying to persuade Yesseca to change her mind.
She said, "Yesseca, although what you said is reasonable, this misunderstanding is different. This misunderstanding involves Tremaine's own son, and whoever's responsible must have been incredibly sneaky to have made this happen, that's why Tremaine suspects you. If you can find out about the truth, Tremaine will definitely change his mind."
Yesseca shook her head.
She didn't want this to go on anymore.
There were many people who didn't like her in Quartley Palace.
Yuliana, Madam Quartley, and people she didn't even know were against her relationship with Tremaine, some going as far as to try and break them up.
She wasn't Sherlock Holmes nor was she an investigator.
It was impossible to try to prove her innocence every time she was framed, find the culprit and make Tremaine trust and believe in her so that their relationship won't be destroyed.
It was too tiring.
Everyone only had one life, so they should live it happily.
Her brother once told her that no matter how she lived, she must live according to her heart's will.
And the feeling of being distrusted was truly awful.
Thus, parting was the only choice.
