"I'm afraid so." Leon said, "Mr.Miller, you need to recuperate."
"I can't lose my sight right now. Give me some medicine. Give me some medicine right now." Patrick said while covering his eyes, agitated. He couldn't become a blind now.
"Bringing the medicine on won't do you any good, Mr.Miller. What you need to do now is to rest and recuperate." Leon said, "Mr.Miller, your eyes aren't feeling well right now. I'll help you go back and lie down."
"What do you know!"
Patrick fiercely pushed away his hands and glared at him. "I can't be blind now! I need to look at Alice a few more times. I'm waiting for her accepting me!"
He couldn't be blind.
At the very least, he couldn't be blind at this moment.
"Then you should tell the young miss why you snatched the Browns away, and why you took William down. It's because you don't have much time left to see his, and you still want to fight for one last chance to be with her!" Leon frowned, "Mr.Miller, you should tell her, then she will understand."
"I hate being a weakling!"
Patrick stood up, and his voice hoarse.
She said that William had used his own life to ask for the marriage from her. Did she think that he did not understand, and did not understand how to use his weakness to gain her attention? He just didn't want to.
Seeing Patrick's anger, Leon could not help but lower his head.
"I've been raised in her family since I was a teenager, and she took care of me all those years. I was like a weakling all the time! I don't want her sympathy, but her heart! " Patrick roared.
With that roar, his vision became even more blurry.
The shadow made him dizzy, so he shook his head vigorously.
"Mr.Miller, are you alright?"
Leon looked at him in shock and supported him.
Patrick pressed his hand on his head, gritting his teeth, "Cast the medicine for me, hurry up. Give me a little more time. As long as we are together, and I believe she will accept me."
A little more time.
Just a little more time.
"Yes, Mr.Miller. I will make more medicine for you."
Leon compromised helplessly.
Days passed. Patrick no longer abused her, as if things never happened.
He would still fix her in bed and force her to have nutrition water to prolong her life.
But Alice knew that at this speed, she would not be able to hold on for many days.
She no longer believed in living.
She leaned on the bed, holding a random book to flipped through it. Patrick sat beside her, doing things while reading documents and taking care of the affairs of the Browns.
Occasionally he looked up at her and told her what had happened outside today.
A volcano had erupted somewhere in the world.
There was another parade on the street.
There were a few TV shows she should be interested in.
Alice pretended not to hear anything as she lowered her eyes to look at her hand. Her ring finger was completely bald, with nothing on it.
"Alice, do you know? This period of time is the most peaceful when I recover my memories." Patrick sat gracefully on a chair at the side, flipping through the documents in his hands.
"You sit right in front of me. I don't have to be worried that you might leave at any time. This feeling is very peaceful."
Patrick placed the document in his hand to the side and looked at her deeply.
Alice kept looking at her ring finger, as if there were still diamonds shining there.
She was becoming thinner, until she was out of shape. Her eyes were sunken in places and even Mary would show her sympathy.
She was thin, so Patrick did his best to help her get dressed so that she did not look like just bones left.
"Didn't you say that you still wanted to see your twins? Are you really willing to die on this island?"
Seeing her like this, Patrick's eyes dimmed.
He wanted to stir Alice's desire to live, and he wanted her to gradually get used to his existence.
He didn't want her to stay with him for just a short period of time, ending with her death. However, it was the hardest thing to keep someone who was determined to die.
Alice kept silent and did not say a single word.
Patrick looked at her, "Alice, as long as you are willing to be together with me. Once I make Browns Family stronger, I will help you take back the twins, then we are a whole family."
No need.
she said to herself.
She would the twins stay in the Cullens to live, rather than to follow their arch enemy.
Alice lowered her gaze to look at her ring finger, and Patrick said, "Did you hear what I said?"
Alice sat quietly.
"Alice, why must you seek death with all your heart? Death is very scary. Just treat it as if it's not for the twins but for William. Don't you want to know the whereabouts of William's corpse?" Patrick asked.
Hearing that, Alice’s long eyelashes lightly trembled, somewhat moved. But very quickly, her gaze dimmed down.
So what if she knew?
She was afraid that William would scold her for the peace exchanging by the whereabouts of a corpse.
"Patrick, Sis." Mary walked in with a smile on her face, "Today is the Lantern Festival, shall we hang the lanterns?"
"Hang the lanterns? Alright."
Patrick revealed a slight smile, and stood up to carry Alice.
Alice did not resist. She was so tired that she did not want to move.
