Chapter 566
Chapter 0566
Maximus’s face turned pale, a mixture of disbelief and anxiety washing over him. He couldn’t believe there was detailed information about the man who was his real father
““How? There’s information about him?” Maximus asked, his voice tinged with incredulity.
“Yes,” Frederick confirmed. “To be honest, I’m astonished at how thorough Peter’s findings were. There’s a lot here, but yes, the details of your father are included.”
Marcus interjected, his tone firm, “Mr. Sanders, can you begin detailing this man? We still have a lot to go through, but this is critical for Maximus.”
Frederick nodded and opened the folder. “The man your mother had a romance with is named Magnus Evans. He was a corporate attorney, now retired and living in Heidelberg, Germany. He’s 80 years old but still remarkably active and independent. He lives alone in a modest home in the city center with his Golden Retriever. No spouse or ex–spouse is known, and he has no other children.‘
“You’re telling me my father’s name is Magnus, and he’s in Germany? Are you saying that if I traveled there, I could meet him?” Maximus asked, his voice trembling-
“Yes. It seems like he hasn’t tried to hide. His address is unremarkable, so it’s likely you’d find him if you looking,” Frederick replied calmly.

Maximus took a deep breath, his chest tightening with a mix of emotions–excitement, anxiety, and a burning need for answers.
“I want a copy of everything,” Maximus declared, standing abruptly. “I’m going to find him.”
“Maximus, you can’t leave yet,” Marcus protested. “There’s still more to go through.”
“Didn’t you hear? I’m not a Palmer–I never was! The one person who can explain all of this is in Germany. Don’t I have the right to seek him out?” Maximus snapped.
“I understand,” Marcus replied, his voice measured, “but we have more to review, and much of it still involves you. I know how unsettling this is, but if we don’t address this now, we may not get another chance. Before someone else gets their hands on this information, we need to act.”
Frederick interjected, “Maximus, Peter knew exactly what kind of chaos this would unleash on your family and Marcus’s. This wasn’t just revenge on the Levett family is revenge on you. What you choose to do with this information is up to you, but don’t underestimate the magnitude of what’s at stake.”
Maximus’s jaw tightened as he defended his absent brother “Péter wouldn’t have done something so vile. There’s got to be an explanation.”
Marcus shook his head, his tone serious. “Peter isn’t the man you or I once knew. He’s a stranger now. And whether or not he intended this as revenge, look at yourself Maximus–it’s tearing you apart.
Maximus glared at him. “I told you, Peter didn’t do anything wrong. That’s what I believe. Whatever you think is your problem. He’s my brother, and even if he did plan all this, he had every justification.
“Look at me,” Maximus continued, his voice breaking with emotion. “I married Alexia Levett, the woman who orchestrated his death. For years, I betrayed him. I put my interests above everything, ignoring him when he needed me most. I stole the woman he loved, married her, and treated her terribly. Then, instead of investigating his death, I paid to bury the truth–for the sake of a company that was never truly mine.
“Now look at you, Marcus,” he said, turning to his friend. don’t know how you and Mary ended up together, but imagine waking up after years to find the love of your life married to your best friend. The daughter you

thought was yours now calls someone else ‘Dad.‘ If Peter did all this, it’s because we deserved it. So let’s stop pretending to be victims. Instead, we need to figure out what to do with this information.”
The Revelation – Magnus Evans
Frederick’s voice was firm as he addressed Maximus. “Mr. Palmer, before you can act on anything, we need to finish reviewing the entire report. After that, what you choose to do with your portion of the information is your business.”
Marcus turned to Maximus with a curious expression. “So are you staying to review everything?
Maximus huffed, irritation clear on his face. “Do I have a choice?”
“No!” Marcus snapped.
“Then why bother asking?” Maximus retorted, folding his arms.
“Frederick, continue,” Marcus directed, ignoring Maximus s sarcasm.
Frederick nodded and resumed. “Maximus, you now know your father is Magnus Evans, and by extension, your true surname is Evans. That also applies to your descendants. What you choose to do with this revelation is up to you. However, you should know that Magnus’s fortune is estimated at this amount.” Frederick slid a document across the table.
Maximus’s eyes widened in disbelief as he scanned the figures, Magnus was far from an ordinary man. How could his mother have known someone so prominent, and how had this connection remained hidden for so long?
