“Mr. Palmer, as I told you, Maximus isn’t in the country, so whatever you want to do will have to wait until he 

arrives.” 

“Damn Maximus! Always acting so important… Call him right now!” 

“Sir… I already told you… Maximus is on a flight back to Valentia.” 

“Call him!” 

With no other choice, Matthew finds the contact and makes the call. 

“Maximus, your father wants to talk to you. I know you’re on the plane, but he insists.” 

“Put him on.” 

Matthew quickly hands the phone to Leonardo, who takes it with a serious, emotionless expression. 

“Maximus, long time no see. Matthew says you’re out of the country… I need to go over some matters with you.” “As you know, I’m on a plane. What do you need?” 

“When you’re back in Valentia, contact me. In the meantime, I’ll be in the office reviewing the company’s reports. To be honest, I’m impressed. The company is growing, and it makes me proud.”

Those words sent chills down Maximus’s spine. He knew all too well what his so–called father was capable of, and his immediate thought was that something bad might happen to his daughter. 

“Leonardo, you’d better not do anything you’ll regret. 

“I just want to talk to my beloved granddaughter.” 

Furious, Maximus couldn’t hold back and let something slip. 

“She’s not your granddaughter, and you know it.” 

That statement left Leonardo stunned. He hadn’t told anyone that Maximus wasn’t his biological son, so he was left speechless and hung up. 

“Matthew, bring Serenity to my office. I want to talk to my granddaughter. 

“Sir, Serenity left the company some time ago, and Maxims wouldn’t agree to this..” 

“I told you to bring her. Do you think I’m stupid? I saw your escort her into your office.”
