Yvonne was obviously stunned. After a moment of silence, she said, “I don’t.” 

“You don’t?” Candice repeated it once more, but she couldn’t even feel her emotion anymore. She simply asked Yvonne, “When you asked him, have you ever thought that he might be unwell?” 

Yvonne mumbled, “He never told me he wasn’t healthy.” 

“He’s your dad!” Candice suddenly increased her volume. With a trembling voice, she yelled. “Yvonne! Where’s your conscience? When has he ever denied you money when you asked him for it? When has he not missed you, his daughter? 

“Where is your conscience?!” 

“Candy, it’s… It’s my fault.” Yvonne whispered, as if she really knew she did wrong as she tried to calm her. 

“I really didn’t know that he was so unwell. I didn’t try to make him angry. I was just complaining to him.” 

Candice didn’t even have to ask what she was complaining about. 

It had to be because she refused to help Ivor and give her even a single cent more. 

When Yvonne heard nothing from Candice, she became nervous. “Candy, I really know that it’s my fault now. I won’t ask him for money ever again. 

After finishing that, she guaranteed it again. “I don’t want your money either. I have something else going on. I’ll talk to you later.” 

Yvonne quickly hung up. Candice only reacted to what happened afterward. What did Yvonne mean in the end? 

But she thought it was just Yvonne trying to act tough again.
