The light from her phone slowly dimmed, and the tip of Candice’s hand, which was on the table, was icy cold. 

She had not made any appointments for a check–up. 

Her expression was almost uncontrollable, and her body could not help but tremble. 

A health examination notice made her realize how ridiculous and pathetic she was. 

“Candice, I have a question for you.” Just then, Sonia came over holding a small file, and Candice looked up at her. 

Candice’s expression was unpleasant, and even though she had thick makeup on, her bad mood was still palpable. 

However, Sonia seemed oblivious and placed her file in front of Candice, whispering, “Candice, the specifications here are not very clear. How should we sort them?” 

Candice lowered her gaze to look at the file, and after a moment, she uttered coldly, “Do you have no hands, or have you never been on the internet?” 

Sonia was stunned. She did not expect this reaction from Candice. According to past practice, Candice should have taken care of such tasks herself. 

But Sonia reacted quickly. After a brief moment of hesitation on her face, she immediately showed a helpless look and whispered, “Candice, I just wanted to ask you this question.” 

As she spoke, her face turned pale, and her slender shoulders seemed on the verge of collapsing. 

Suddenly, Candice felt that her previous decision to ignore Sonia’s little tricks might have been a 

mistake. 

It made Sonia think she was easy to bully. 

Candice flipped through the documents on the table and then cut to the chase, “The product specifications are unclear. The information about the Blue Artifact is clearly stated on the official website. Do you not even have the energy to check a website, or is it that in your entire internship, no one in the CEO’s office taught you how to search for information?” 

Candice’s tone was cold, and her attitude was not good. Sonia’s expression changed multiple times as she bit her lip pitifully, her eyes starting to turn red. 

The people in the office had already shifted their attention to them, watching in silence.

The feeling of being watched like this made Candice very uncomfortable. She toned down and said, “Leave the materials. Don’t come back until you’ve learned how to use a search engine.” 

When Sonia left, her eyes were already red. She sniffled, lowered her head, and left the office. 

As it happened to be the end of the workday, when Sonia left, Candice rubbed her temples, feeling 

exhausted. 

She had no appetite, and when Kayla asked her to have a meal, she just waved her hand in 

rejection. 

“Then, Candice, shall I bring you some food?” Kayla did not say much and went out of the office 

directly. 

When the office was empty. Candice picked up her phone once again. The screen was still 

displaying the message from Dorrington Hospital. 

After a moment of silence, Candice directly deleted that message. 

In the afternoon, Candice contacted the person in charge of Blue Artifact. The other party’s attitude was positive, and after Candice expressed her intention, they could have a face–to–face 

meeting. 

Without further delay, she packed up her things and left the company.
