Before they went over, Alex’s phone started ringing. He moved to the side to pick up the call. 

Sonia watched him leave and said softly to Candice, “If you’re in a hurry to go to the hospital, you can go first. I’ll go with Lex later.” 

Seeing through her intentions, Candice turned around without any expression and left. 

Sonia watched her go and explained to Greg beside her softly. “Peach is Candice’s sister. Even if she’s angry, she’s still worried. It’s better to let her go first.”

Sonia smiled again, “I’ll wait here with Lex.”

Candice sat by her side for a while before getting up. “I’m just going to find a doctor and speak 

with them.”

made clear. 

She had just walked to the door of the office when she heard Greg’s voice. “We will take responsibility for Peach Dawson’s medical fees. We will also try our best to cooperate with the

Hearing the footsteps, Sonia turned back and seeing Candice, she put on a faint smile. “Candice, why weren’t you in the ward? Peach is so young, what would you do if anything happened?” She passed over the fruit in her hand to Peach and Peach accepted it after some hesitation. 

Sonia smiled at her. “I heard you missed me, so I came to see you. Are you happy?” 

Peach looked at Candice and seeing that Candice did not appear displeased, she nodded. “I am.” 

Sonia noticed the glance and looked stunned. She turned back to look at Candice, hesitant to speak. After a while, she seemed to have made up her mind. She frowned slightly and looked at Candice. “Candice, don’t be so stoic. Children will get scared.” 

Candice was somewhat skinny and with the white shirt and black slacks she wore today, she did 

appear somewhat serious, 

“But Candice, I see that Peach is quite obedient to you. When I give her food or ask her anything. she looks at you, as it she would not know what to say if you disagree.” Sonia smiled, but it was extremely take, as it she was wearing a mask. 

Candice looked down and said expressionlessly. “All children have heard of Snow White and know that not everything from strangers should be accepted. The fact that she asks me shows that she has the awareness of self–preservation.” 

Sonia’s smile froze. “That’s rather good.”
