Mr. Franklyn smiled and said, "Candice just told me that Burning Star wants to participate in the Redshade tender. Maybe your company, Aether, and Burning Star can cooperate again."
"Is Aether also participating?" Candice asked. "The Redshade tender not only involves design firms but also investors. This is considered quite a significant event."
Candice had researched the Redshade tender last night. It was quite different from others, as it gathered almost all domestic resources and provided opportunities that were not easily available otherwise. Therefore, every time it was held, it was particularly grand.
The tender venue was also divided into several sections, each dedicated to different fields. Burning Star was interested in a section jointly hosted by Dorrington and Solaris, called the "Rising Moon" themed exhibition. It not only had overarching thematic ideas but also incorporated some popular local elements.
However, this section was also one of the most popular among all the tenders.
Based on Candice's understanding of Aether, she instinctively felt that among the several sections, there was a higher likelihood of Alex choosing the Rising Moon section.
Sure enough—
Mr. Franklyn said, "Actually, it's quite coincidental. Your chosen themes are quite similar. If you can collaborate again, you would save on the process of adjustment."
Alex nodded gracefully, going along with Mr. Franklyn's words. "I'm also looking forward to the second collaboration with Burning Star."
Even though Candice's mind was swirling with thoughts, she had to follow Alex's lead in the conversation.
After Mr. Franklyn left, she suppressed her emotions and looked at Alex. "Does Aether also want to collaborate with Burning Star for the second time?"
Candice did not believe what he had said. After all, in the case of Blue Artifact, Alex had overturned Burning Star's plans several times.
"Is there another studio in Dorrington that is more suitable?" Alex casually threw out the reply.
Candice realized his meaning. It was not that Alex wanted to collaborate with Burning Star. It was that he could only collaborate with Burning Star.
Apart from the adjustment period with a new studio, there was another significant reason: both Burning Star and Aether were located in Dorrington. This point alone would save Alex a considerable amount of manpower and time resources. Moreover, the best studio in Dorrington was Burning Star.
As Candice was lost in thought, she suddenly heard Angela's voice.
"We talked about going out tonight. Do you want to join us?" Angela asked.
"I'll pass."
"Okay, that's fine," Angela shrugged with a hint of disappointment. "By the way, there's a young man waiting for you outside." She elongated the word 'you', making it sound rather suggestive.
Candice was stunned, and her immediate reaction was that it might be Barox. She checked her phone and saw several missed calls from him. Candice pursed her lips and headed out.
As she passed by Alex, she caught a whiff of the faint pine scent emanating from him. She paused and said, "You're right. In this tender, Burning and Aether are indeed each other's best choice."
For Alex, the resources needed were considerable, and similarly, Burning Star needed resources too, perhaps even more than Aether.
Alex remained calm, his gaze lowered as he looked at Candice. "So?"
"I'll discuss it with Hanley."
Alex's intention was already clear in front of Mr. Franklyn. He wanted to collaborate with Burning Star again.
"I look forward to your response," Alex said casually.
Candice did not respond further and turned to leave.
Behind her, Alex's distracted gaze slowly focused.
