Angela was stunned, a moment of confusion flickering across her face. "Darius's father?" She shook her head. "Most of us don’t know much about Darius's family matters. I doubt Ella knows either, but judging by his character, I imagine his family situation isn't great."
Ella.
Although Candice's expression remained unchanged, memories began to stir in her mind. Apart from Angela, Jackson had also mentioned this name. He had even asked her to help look after this girl named Ella after knowing she was coming to Solaris.
And this Ella, was Darius's girlfriend?
Candice frowned harder and harder, feeling like everything was tangled up into a mess, impossible to make sense of.
"Are you interested in Darius?" Angela asked. She paused for a moment. "Your surname is Renault, and so is his. Could you two be relatives or something? Holy shit." Angela couldn’t help but curse.
Candice responded calmly. "You're overthinking. I don't know him." She just needed to confirm one thing.
Angela didn’t care much either and nodded. "Do you want to meet him? If you do, come with me tonight to hang out. Ella will be there, as well as Solomon. I reckon Darius will probably be there too."
Initially hesitant, Candice agreed after a brief thought. Some things were better clarified sooner rather than later, to avoid lingering doubts.

When they talked about "hanging out," they meant going to a famous street of bars in Solaris. Following Angela inside, the first thing Candice saw was a slender, fair-skinned girl in a navy-blue dress, standing there like a doll.
"Ella," Angela called, leading Candice over. "Let me introduce you. This is the beautiful lady I told you about. Isn't she imposing?"
Bella looked at Candice with a friendly smile. "Hello, I'm Bella Quimby, Angie's best friend." Her voice was clean and crisp, with a similar gentleness to Angela's tone.
Candice recognized her. Bella was the girl she had encountered in the restroom the day before. But Bella probably did not recognize her.
Candice smiled and said, "It's a bit coincidental. I'm friends with Jackson. When I came to Solaris, he asked me to come and see you."
Upon hearing Jackson's name, Bella's smile grew wider. "So, you're the very capable friend Jackson mentioned. He told me that a friend would be coming."
Candice smiled and was about to speak when she heard the sound of the private room door opening. Looking up, she saw three figures enter. The leader, wearing a floral print shirt, appeared relaxed, but his face bore some resemblance to Bella. It was Solomon, Bella's second elder brother.
Behind him were two people. One was Darius, and the other was Alex.
The moment Candice's gaze met Alex's, she quickly withdrew it.
She heard Solomon's hearty voice. "Go all out. Today, it's on me. Mr. Elysian, you were hospitable to me the last time in Dorrington. This time in Solaris, although you did not actively seek me out, I'll still uphold the hospitality that should be extended by the one who lives locally," Solomon said somewhat sarcastically.
Alex nodded faintly. "Mr. Quimby, you are too kind."
Solomon then turned to Darius, picked up the glass on the table, took a sip, and said, "Mr. Renault is truly impressive now."
Darius did not respond. His gaze lingered on Candice sitting beside him for a moment before he let out a faint, ambiguous chuckle.
Meeting his gaze, Candice raised her face slightly, showing no avoidance.
