My Mirror Image by Maybe Not (Candice And Alex’s) novel Chapter 370

"Maybe it's blood congestion, and it didn't react immediately. I remember Ella once hit her hand on the door, and it didn't swell until the next day," Angela said. She looked at Candice's hand, murmuring to herself while sharing some first aid methods.

Halfway through, she suddenly sensed a cold and stern gaze on her. Angela paused and turned around to see Alex's dark and deep eyes.

She was smart so she immediately changed the subject and wore a pitiful and sad expression. "But I suggest you go to the hospital for a check-up, after all, nobody knows if there's any damage to the bones.

"But we have to rush back now, so we'll trouble Mr. Elysian. Although Mr. Elysian is also injured, at least he's a man, and it's more convenient with someone accompanying you." Angela spoke swiftly, grabbed her bag, and didn't forget to bid farewell to her colleagues and Alex. "We'll leave first. It's better for you to go to the hospital for a thorough examination for this injury."

After speaking, Angela didn't linger. She left with her colleagues.

Candice also wanted to leave, but Alex's voice sounded. "Didn't you hear what she said? Serious injuries can affect the bones."

"I'll go to the hospital for a check-up," Candice said.

"Okay." Alex nodded, his voice deep, "Wait for me to change clothes."

Candice looked back at him and explained, "I can go by myself."

He had already stood up, looking down at her. His tone remained unchanged, "I said Sawyer is discussing the compensation."

His implication was clear; he must accompany her to the hospital.

They took another taxi to the hospital, and after a thorough examination, Candice was diagnosed with subcutaneous bleeding, nothing serious. But Alex forced her to undergo another full-body examination to ensure everything was fine before leaving.

Candice held a stack of examination reports in her hand and asked Alex, "Should I give these reports to you or to Sawyer?"

He lowered his gaze to her wrist, where besides bruising, there was some swelling, which looked quite alarming.

However, Candice was pregnant, and the doctor advised her to use ointments sparingly, so she didn't apply any. Even when she was treating Alex's wound, she had used cotton swabs.

At first, when the symptoms hadn't appeared, she didn't feel uncomfortable. But now, she only felt a burning pain in her wrist, and the entire joint felt weak and powerless.

However, the next moment, a hand reached out in front of her, and Alex directly took the report from her hand. "I'll pass it on to Sawyer."

Candice nodded, with no objection.

-

This time, when they returned to the hotel, Alex didn't make her accompany him, so Candice went back to her room by herself.

But as she stepped out of the elevator, she saw a familiar figure rushing past the corner, looking somewhat familiar.

She frowned and looked at it, but couldn't remember who it was.

Later, because of her hand injury, Candice had the hotel send dinner up directly in the evening.

Before she could start eating, old Mr. Elysian called. He was extremely worried, "Oh my, what happened? How did you get into a car accident? Are you okay? Did you hurt anywhere? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

Shawn bombarded her with a long string of questions, all full of concern.

She answered them one by one, and finally heard him angrily say, "Whoever dares to drink and drive in broad daylight should be sentenced harshly. Fortunately, nothing happened to you guys. If something had happened, how would I have coped?

"I heard you have a serious hand injury. Is it very inconvenient? Should I have Bruno buy a plane ticket to come over tonight? Grandpa can't bear not seeing you and I’m worried."
