Chapter 0074
However, he wouldn’t ask Candice about it anyway. Instead, he asked, “Where’s Alex?”
“I don’t know,” Candice said.
She really did not know where he was since she had not seen him since yesterday morning.
Sieg frowned as she stared at Candice. “Why are you being so aggressive with me so early in the morning.
Candice?”
“I’m just answering your question,” Candice said in a calm tone.
However, all Sieg could feel was how rude Candice’s tone was and he kept on pushing it. At first, Candice could still speak with him with patience, but even she had reached her limits in the end.
She couldn’t help but say, “If you’re looking for him, why don’t you call him? Why are you looking for me here? I’m not his maid to know everything about him.”
Sieg most likely didn’t realize that Candice would get so angry, and his face was getting gloomy.
Just as he was going to yell at her, he saw the figure coming from behind Candice. He raised his hand and
said, “Alex.”
Candice froze a moment before hearing Alex’s deep voice. “Why are you here?”
“I was getting bored at Dorrington City, so I came over to Stugan City for some fun.”
Candice kept her pose and didn’t move until Alex’s dispassionate voice rang in her ears. “You can’t wait to
resign, can you?”
Candice said nothing as she smelled the cold cedar scent from him.
She did want to leave Aether, but she hadn’t solved the problem with Yvonne yet. And there was also the issue
of Peach’s medical bills.
At the end of the day, she was still related to her by blood. It was impossible for Candice to simply give up on
her.
And then there was her grandfather’s health.
Because of one sentence, Candice’s mind was in a mess. But she was the one who had said that she wanted
to resign. She couldn’t go back on her own words.
