My Past is Just Prologue (Janet and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 469

Chapter 469 Three Big Shots

Chitt clenched his fists, he scolded Nathaniel many times in his mind, but he still didn’t

get over it.

Janet closed the document and said with concern politely, “Mr. Floyd, you’ve been

working all night. You haven’t had any rest, have you?”

She opened the drawer at hand, took out a box from it, and handed it to Chitt.

“This is a tranquilizer that I often drink. It can effectively relieve fatigue. Mr. Floyd, you

can try it.”

Chitt took it and nodded to express his thanks.

His eyes wandered to Janet’s face, and after thinking about it, he couldn’t help but ask, “Ms. Longfellow, you also look a little tired, did you sleep well last night?”

Janet frowned invisibly as she remembered staying late last night at Nathaniel’s house

to take care of him.

“I slept well last night, and I would like to thank you for taking me home.”

With a hint of distress, Chitt looked at Janet’s soft black eyes, “Although you are young, you still need to pay attention to your health, and don’t bother yourself about something

unimportant.”

Chitt’s words seemed polite and caring, but there was a subtext in Janet’s ears.

She took a deep look at Chitt, “Thank you for your concern, Mr. Floyd. If there is nothing

else, then go do yours.”

Chitt lowered his eyes and tightened his hand hanging by his side,

“Okay, then I won’t bother you.”

He paused and returned to his usual elite appearance, “If you’re free tomorrow, we can

follow up on the club’s on-site construction together.”

Janet looked through Marco’s work schedule, “Then let’s set it at three o’clock tomorrow

afternoon.”

Chitt left after confirming the time. Janet leaned tiredly on the chair’s headrest and

pinched the space between her eyebrows.

She told herself repeatedly that he was not her elder brother, but the more she looked at

his eyes, the more they would coincide with the gentle smiling eyes in her memory.

She tapped her forehead irritably. Time would not dilute the longing in her heart, it would

only make her taste the pain of loss over and over again in countless moments.

She closed her eyes for a while, and when the lingering sourness in her heart finally. dissipated, Janet opened her eyes and resumed her cool and self-sufficient posture.

She turned on her phone and sent a message to Nathaniel and Nigel respectively,

informing them to go to the site for inspection tomorrow.

After a few seconds, their replies were sent to Janet’s phone.

There was only one word for Nathaniel’s reply, [Okay.]

But Nigel sent messages one after another.

“Okay, okay! I’m on call 24 hours a day!”

“Why don’t I pick you up? I’m a super skillful driver!”

Janet put her phone on silent with a blank expression.

In the afternoon of the next day, many people gathered outside the Longfellow Group. Passers-by and employees of the group stopped and looked curiously at the two cars parked opposite.

“Mom, what are these two brothers doing? Are they making movies?”

A little girl with cotton candy in her hand shook her mother’s hand and asked curiously.

The young mother looked around and couldn’t help but wonder, “Could it be a reality

show with a hidden camera?”

It was a restrained black business car parked at the door of the Longfellow Group, and

opposite it was a red supercar with a flamboyant package.

Both of these cars were expensive.

However, compared to the expensive cars, the two car owners were more eye-catching.

The owner of the red supercar was as high-profile as his car. He was white from head to

toe, and even his leather shoes were spotless.

His hair was specially styled with pomade, and his face was as handsome as a movie.

star. His eyes were curved into crescent moons, and he looked chic and unrestrained.

The man on the other side was wearing a low-key luxurious gray suit, which was tailored just right to make his muscular lines looming, but compared to the coquettishness of the man in white, his temperament had a sense of stability and aristocrats.

His deep eyes were like two pieces of ice, wherever his line of sight passed, there was an

oppressive force that could see through everything.

The two men were standing beside the car, without any communication with each other, as if they were two strangers. But one could feel two electric currents secretly fighting fiercely between them.

When Janet went downstairs, she saw them standing downstairs in her company, and the onlookers almost blocked the road.

Chitt stood one step behind Janet, staring coldly at the two.

How ostentatious they were! It was no wonder that Jill didn’t like any of them.

Chitt refused to think one of them was Janet’s ex-husband who had liked for ten years!

Nigel saw Janet first, and when Janet’s figure appeared, he immediately walked up to

her.

“Jill, you’ve finally come down. I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”

Nigel brushed his hair gracefully, with soft waves in his eyes.

There was a low panting sound all around, and Janet glanced lightly, and saw a group of

little girls who had been fascinated by Nigel, staring at them.

She clicked her tongue lightly, and put her hand on her forehead, “You still have a lot of

charm, Mr. Wheeler.”

Nigel smiled ambiguously, “I wonder if you were attracted to me, Ms. Longfellow?”

Janet showed a standard smile with eight teeth, and Nigel could only feel his heart

racing.

“No!”

She glanced at her watch, and smiled, “I’m not late, you didn’t wait for me for a long time,

so don’t be so ambiguous next time.”

Nigel was somewhat discouraged, “Arriving early is what a gentleman should do.”

Chitt looked at Nigel lightly over Janet’s shoulder.

He should be the son of the Wheeler family that Donahue said was chasing after Jill.

He looked dignified, but he was too glib.

Chitt looked away in disgust.
