My Past is Just Prologue (Janet and Nathaniel) novel Chapter 472

Chapter 472 Like Your Mother

Janet and Callan walked quickly ahead, while Nathaniel and the others also fell silent and followed behind.

A man who was as majestic as a lion just now switched to a coward in a second.

Nigel carefully observed Janet’s face. She didn’t look very happy, and there was a hint of impatience in her eyes.

He remembered the last time he intentionally made trouble for Nathaniel and was scolded by Janet. He shivered with

fear.

“Jill, you must be thirsty after being out in the sun for so long.”

Nigel leaned over with an attentive smile on his face.

“I’ll go buy you a drink. What do you want to drink? Orange juice, yogurt, or cola?”

The sun was very hot. Janet indeed felt thirsty.

“Orange juice, thank you.”

“Okay!” Nigel agreed. He felt he was back to life.

Nathaniel said bluntly, “I want a bottle of water.”

Nigel glanced at him. “If you want to drink, buy it yourself!”

He hurriedly went to buy something to drink, while Janet and the others continued to patrol.

The track hallway up the mountain had not been finished. Everyone could only take the cable car up the mountain

where the workers worked.

There was no sound in the confined space. Nathaniel and Chitt looked down on each other. They simply closed their

eyes to rest.

Janet looked out the window speechlessly, feeling it felt very good to be quiet.

Callan, however, inexplicably felt that the frozen air was full of embarrassment, and looked at Marco for help.

Marco had long been used to this kind of atmosphere, he looked down at his toes.

He thought, “Young man, just get used to it.”

Callan heaved a sigh of relief as he got off the cable car in seconds, and led the crowd to the observation deck above

the track

“Ms. Longfellow, Mr. Webster, be careful.”

It was still under construction here. The ground was covered with uneven brick and stone rubble.

As she walked, Janet’s heel got stuck in the crack of the stone. She almost fell.

“Ms. Longfellow, slow down.”

chitt quickly wanted to help her.

At this moment, the exclamation of workers and the harsh sound of metal rubbing suddenly came from above

everyone’s heads

A few people subconsciously looked over their heads and saw that the huge scaffolding toppled down without warning. The whole tell towards the position where Janet and others were

Janet’s pupils shrank instantly. Callan shouted out in horror.

Chitt was the closest to Janet. So his first reaction was to pull Janet to the side.

The shelf was very heavy. It fell fast. Even if the people below have reacted, they had no chance to escape.

Janet was smart, guessing that she would not be able to avoid it, she squatted down decisively and covered her head with her hands.

This was the best way to protect herself from serious injury.

“Boom!”

With a loud noise, the entire shelf was completely smashed to the ground. The dust flew up in an instant.

Janet slowly opened her closed eyes. She was not hurt at all.

She raised her head. Nathaniel was standing on outside of Janet. At the last moment, he rushed to the left as fast as he could, protecting her with his body.

Janet immediately stood up and took a quick look at Nathaniel and Chitt. Seeing that they were fine, she turned to look

at Callan.

Callan was fast. He hid aside as soon as the shelf fell down.

“Janet, are you okay?”

“Ms. Longfellow, how are you doing?”

Nathaniel and Chitt expressed concern at the same time.

Janet had no time to pay attention to them. She shook off Nathaniel’s hand, and coldly beckoned Callan to go up with her to check the situation.

Nathaniel was defenseless. She threw him directly into Chitt’s arms.

Chitt stretched out his arms reflexively, and the two big men hugged together, looking at each other in embarrassment.

The scene in front of him was too shocking, Marco was stunned.

Nathaniel and Chitt were also dumbfounded. They stared at each other for a while, then suddenly pushed each other

away.

Chitt brushed off his sleeve in disgust as if he had touched something unlucky.

Nathaniel’s complexion looked ugly too. He strode after Janet.

Thankfully, there were no workers under when it fell, so there were no casualties at the scene.

When Nathaniel and the others chased to the second floor, Janet was holding something with a serious expression on

her face.

“Janet, what’s the matter?”

Janet handed him a note with a solemn expression.

Nathaniel took it, and the words on it made his face darken.

“It’s been ages since had a chance to talk, my dear.”

Someone wanted to talk to her.

Such an intimate word, appearing at the moment of a narrow escape, was like an invisible net, enveloping everyone in

an instant.

Callan had already checked the surroundings and found no suspicious person. And no worker noticed who put down

the note there.

Chitt also saw the note, his eyes turned cold. And a ruthless murderous aura rose from his body instantly,

“Block all exits here. All workers stop working and stand by.”

Janet looked at Marco. “Go and check the surveillance here to see if there are any suspicious people coming in and

out.”

Although the workers here said they didn’t notice it, there would be negligence when they were concentrating on
