Therefore, I chose to evade the issue.
I was still new at the Milton Group, so I didn't have many tasks to do. Besides, Sebastian already had Linda, who was a very capable secretary. Therefore, my work was easier.
"Miss Reid, you need to go over these documents, look through this contract, and arrange Mr. Milton's schedule for tomorrow," Linda instructed me. She probably had something pressing on her mind and kept looking at her phone while speaking to me.
I couldn't help but ask, "Linda, do you have some urgent matters to attend to?"
She nodded and said, "I need to go and pick up my daughter. I need to leave ten minutes earlier than usual as there's usually a traffic jam at this hour."
I looked at her and realized that she was probably less than forty years in age. I said, "You look so young, but you already have a daughter. If you didn't tell me, I wouldn't have thought so!"
She looked at me with a smile and said, "Miss Reid, you flatter me. Thank you! I have to go now."
She took her bag and went out in a hurry. There were many busy, capable, working mothers like her nowadays.
A man in black suit appeared standing at the office entrance before I packed up.
"Mr. Milton, is there anything else you need?" I asked and instinctively glanced at the time. It was the end of the workday, so it couldn't be related to work.
He raised his eyebrows and said, "Naomi asked us out for dinner. Let's eat together!"
I froze for a second before asking, "Did she invite you as well?" Naomi really was bold. Did she dare to ask him?
He nodded and simply said, "Let's go!"
He was really a taciturn person.
After getting in the car, I suddenly realized that Naomi had no reason to have his phone number. "When did you give your phone number to Naomi?"
He raised his eyebrows and started the car. "She asked for my phone number when you all were exchanging them with the others at the airport."
Wow...
