Chapter 337
“Maybe we have different childhoods,” Linda said.
she had spent most of her childhood with John, and being with her elders was generally a positive experience. The only downside was not being able to enjoy junk food, as her ellers considered anything with chili powder to be unhealthy.
“I had lived with my parents, I probably wouldn’t have had access to those things, either. But I was raised by my grandparents”
Lisa’s Funily was well–off, but they had a strong preference for boys
Being a girl, Lina wasn’t valued much and was handed over to her grandparents shortly after birth. Later, she went abroad for her studies and work t passed away, her parents might never have known that she had been living abroad for years.
If her grandparents hadn’t
Linance found her sinuation sad. However, as she grew older and experienced more of life, she stopped dwelling on it. What mattered most to her was being content with her own life and not worrying about others‘ opinions.
“I’ve been thinking about how to raise a child,” Linda said.
As a first–time mother, she was eager to be a good mom and was actively learning
She had read many books and watched educational videos, hoping to respect Lexi’s thoughts, allow her to grow freely, and let her become whoever she was meant to be “I think it’s best to give a child freedom,” Lina said.
Despite her difficult childhood, she didn’t harbor rebellious feelings, thanks to the freedom she had. It allowed her to make her own choices and take responsibility for them
“If you can support Lex in whatever she does, why not let her grow freely? Lina continued, munching on her food
As they discussed parenting, a memory came to Linda it was from the second year after she married William. Though he rarely brought her to events, there were a few occasions where having a spouse was expected
Once, they attended a business partner’s baby’s one–month celebration together. On the way home, Linda daydreamed about their future.
she said, “When we have children, we must give them plenty of love, let them grow freely, and make sure they’re happy.”
But William’s response had been vague
He was always like that. He never responded to questions and seemed almost like a wooden state, devoid of expression or emotion
Thinking back, Linda felt a dull ache in her chest.
It was as if she was the only one making an effort, while William remained detached. She felt that perhaps she shouldn’t have acted the way she did.
Looking back at it, she found it unjust to herself and thought William’s behavior was absurd. Yet, she knew that what was done was done.
“I’ll talk to Samson about it. I can’t make these decisions alone, but I’m certain Lexi will be happy,” Linda said,
“Of course, Lexi will be happy,” Lina replied, finishing her milk candy and fiddling with the aluminum wrapper.
“Now that we’ve talked about children, let’s get back to work,” Lina said, returning to her professional demeanor,
“everything goes as planned, next week will mark the third phase of shooting. I won’t be able to join you, as I have an overseas event that I must attend. I’ll be taking my talent with me to give them some exposure”
“You should have received the details and the script by now. Coordinate with Mr. Lynch when the time comes, and avoid coming across as insincere. The rest will depend on th editing.” Lina added, but Linda had zoned out for the last part.
“An overseas event? What kind of event?” Linda asked.
“A lesser–known fashion week, but it’s a good opportunity for the talent to gain exposure and enhance their style profile” Lina explained
While many fans who met celebrities at the airport were often staged, there could still be some genuine paparazzis.
For acelebrity, appearing disheveled in front of cameras and online would not be favorable, as fans wouldn’t appreciate it
“Why can’t I come along?” Linda asked
