Never Late, Never Away Chapter 2646

Are You Alright

Joan didn’t even have breakfast and headed straight to the photography studio.

“What’s wrong with her? She seems unhappy today.”

“I don’t know. Did she quarrel with someone?”

“Should we go comfort her?”

In the pantry of the photography studio, the staff gossiped about Joan as she sat brooding in her office.

Right now, Joan seemed to be hard at work, but the phone conversation between her and Jake kept replaying in her mind.

What is Jake up to? She clenched her fists and pondered.

“Are you alright, Joan?” Abigail came in and asked.

Joan waved her hands in response. “I’m fine.”

“Oh. If you need my help, just let me know.” Abigail left after saying that.

After Joan refused to hire another assistant, Abigail indirectly took over the duties and became her assistant.

Joan was trying to figure out how to stop Jake from annoying her while massaging her temples.

Do I have to spend a night with him?

No! I can’t do that.

Meanwhile, Jake was heading to his office with his briefcase in hand.

“Did anyone call me today?”

“No,” replied his assistant.

Mm? Joan is that calm, huh? Well, she’s smart enough. He chuckled and entered his office.

“Mr. Wilson, please take a look at proposals for the upcoming projects.” His assistant proceeded to hand him a few files.

This was exactly the outcome Jake was hoping for.

Something told Larry that it wasn’t as simple as it seemed.

Larry paced in his office and racked his brains for a solution, but he couldn’t figure out another way except to head there himself and pay ransom to the kidnapper to prevent Della from getting hurt.

“Larry!” Caspian barged in.

He stopped in confusion when he saw how troubled Larry was.

“Larry, what’s wrong? Did something happen?” he asked worriedly.

“Mm. Della has been kidnapped,” answered Larry.

Caspian was astounded.

Everyone knew how capable Della was. Clearly, her kidnapper must be someone not to be underestimated.

He immediately offered his help. “What should I do?”

“I’m thinking of a solution right now,” Larry replied, seemingly troubled.
