Even Lucy could not handle Matthew’s cheesiness sometimes.
“Where did you learn to say that?”
Lucy said in a questioning tone, but she was feeling all sweet inside. Matthew was never good at saying sweet things, so hearing them occasionally made Lucy happy.
“I don’t have to learn them from anyone. These words are from my heart.”
Matthew’s inky pupils carried deep affection, making it hard for Lucy to look away.
“You’ve been back for so long, but you haven’t eaten yet. I’ll cook for you today.”
“But you’ve been working all day. Aren’t you tired? Let the maids cook something simple. I just need to fill my stomach.”
“No, you have to listen to me today. I finally got off work early to cook for you, so you can’t say no, okay?”
After Matthew’s 'threats,' Lucy had no choice but to watch him get busy in the kitchen.
“Are you sure you can handle this, Matt? Last time, you almost set the entire kitchen on fire.”
Lucy remembered the time when Matthew said with full confidence that he could cook, but he almost burned down half the kitchen. It scared Lucy so much that she never let him in the kitchen again.
What act was he trying to put on today by going into the kitchen all of a sudden?
Speechless, Matthew did not expect Lucy to bring up that embarrassing incident.
“Lucy, let’s not bring up the past, okay? I took some preemptive measures to avoid risks. Instead of using the gas stove, using the induction stove is better, right?”
“Fine, you’re always right, but let me watch you. You may not even know how to handle the induction stove.”
