"I’ve investigated Ted Chorley, the manager in charge of this project. There was a deposit into his bank account recently, and it wasn't from Sunrise Group but from an anonymous source. It’s highly likely that he’s being paid by both sides to do the same thing.”
Hudson pondered it for a moment.
“We definitely can’t rule out that possibly because the last time I was in Matthew’s office, I overheard that Sunrise Group had raised the profit share only to lower it again right after. It’s possible that Spades gave him the orders to do so.
"It seems like this project is going to put Matthew in danger…”
Koven nodded and looked out the window.
…
“Are the minutes for the meeting just now completed?” Matthew asked Kent as he walked into the office.
“I had Sammy finish up the meeting minutes, sir.”
“Good.”
Then, Kent nervously said, “Mr. Leon, while you were in the meeting, there was a report from Mrs. Leon’s side that I didn’t get to inform you about.”
Matthew stopped in his tracks upon hearing Lucy’s name and turned to face Kent.
“What’s the matter? Tell me now.”
“Koven took Mrs. Leon out earlier, and they were gone for over an hour. When she came back… she looked quite happy.” Kent’s words sent chills down his own spine.
Upon hearing this, Matthew did not even bother putting on his coat. He immediately rushed to the garage, got into his car, and drove straight to Hudson’s company.
