"What’s going on?” Matthew looked at the two of them doubtfully.
“After hearing about the anonymous investor in your office last time, I asked Koven to look into it, and we’ve found something.” Hudson cast Matthew a glance.
Matthew immediately tensed up when he heard that it was about the anonymous investor.
“So, what’s the problem?”
Koven said, “After looking into it, I think it may be related to Spades. It seems that Sunrise Group might be their puppets, and the anonymous investor is likely associated with them. We haven’t identified who that person is yet, but we’re certain that Spades is still after you and Lucy.”
Matthew turned to look outside.
Seeing his reaction, Hudson added out of concern, “I suggest you be cautious with your collaboration with Sunrise Group. It’s not a small project, so you must scrutinize every single detail.”
Matthew nodded at Hudson’s words and said, “Why are you and Koven helping me?”
Hudson was silent, not knowing how to respond. Meanwhile, Koven merely glanced at him and then at Matthew.
“I’m helping you because Lucy is my apprentice, and as for Hudson, he’s helping you because he needs your help too.”
Hudson instantly shot Koven a glare.
“Help? Why would you need my help?” Matthew was not sure what Koven meant by help, so he asked for clarification considering the two of them had already done him quite a favor.
“Do you know why Spades made a move this time?” Matthew glanced at Hudson and then at Koven, expecting one of them to respond.
However, both of them fell into deep contemplation, making the atmosphere awkward.
“Well…”
Koven looked at Hudson, not knowing how to answer, but he said anyway, “We haven’t fully investigated this yet, but I’ll look into it. You can leave it to me, Matthew.”
Matthew nodded.
