“Smart.”
“How’s she your enemy? Isn’t she-”
“That bloody witch could never be my family!” June snapped, her eyes flashing red.
Cindy gasped. She’d never seen someone express so much hatred for anyone before.
“I hate her. I hate that I get to see her everyday. If murder wasn’t legal, I swear, that bitch would’ve been six feet below.
For the first time, Cindy laughed. June’s words were just… amusing.
“And based on my research, you two are not exactly best of friends anymore. As a matter of fact, she’s been a pain in your ass. I understand that she had been snatching your clients, probably to get back at you. I can will you stop her.”
Cindy practically salivated at the prospect. “Okay. But why would you want to do that?”
“Why else? I want to her rid of her.” She rolled her eyes. “She never came in from nowhere, ruined whatever relationship I had with my grandfather and is currently his favorite. Hell, I want her gone as far away from my family as possible. Now, I could be your weapon at home while you be my cooperate own. You’ll drag her down the business ladder, and I’ll gladly help you.”
Cindy was quiet, the offer seeming too good to be true.
“What do you say, Chic Mirage?” June grabbed her glass again. “We might always be business rivals. But for now, you’ll need if you want to get rid of that bitch.”

TWO DAYS LATER.

“Just tell me you’re already on your way, Ana.” Sylvie said as she hurried out of her room toward the kitchen.
“Yes, ma’am. I’m headed there with the others already.”
“Good. Keep me posted.”
Shit. She couldn’t afford to be late. She’d planned this day for so long and couldn’t understand why she was seemingly running late.
She didn’t have the time for breakfast. So, reaching the kitchen, she decided to make herself a cup of coffee.
She was in the process of it when June entered. She glanced at Syivie before grabbing a mug and reaching for the beverages.
“You know you could ask someone to make this for you, right?” She suddenly asked, surprising Sylvie.
Sylvie shrugged. “You right. But I don’t feel like it. Besides you’re making your tea yourself.”
AM-
“I have my reasons. But I think we can both agree that you do this all the time, Sylvie–always playing the saint. The good
To be honest, it pisses me the hell off.”
one.
Okay, trouble.
Sylvie rolled her eyes. She didn’t have the time for breakfast and was definitely not going to have the time for her cousin’s
Her coffee ready, she grabbed the pack of coffee and hurried to the cabinet to return it. Then, she grabbed the mug and sipped from it as she walked out of the kitchen.
Galen wished her luck in the living room just before she left. What she had to do was extremely important. There were some top associates from Netherlands who had flown into the country for business purposes and wanted to round a partnership deal with Astrea Label.
Galen had trusted the deal to her. For the first time, the man was rusting her with something that huge. Herself, she was eager to get the deal signed. Another major achievement in fier me.
In the car as she headed to the location, her phone beeped on the passenger next to her. She glanced and spotted the name Machai.
She rolled her eyes. He was probably texting to remind her of the event he wanted her to attend with him tonight. She’d been pissed when he told her about it the previous night and couldn’t understand whatever gave him the impression that they could start going to events together.
Well, she couldn’t bring herself to think of him in the moment. She had better things to worry about–like the fact that she needed to meet the business associates before it was time for their flight.
She had barely gotten far when she started feeling ‘wrong.
Her vision blurred from time to time, her head growing heavy. Suddenly, her eyelids were being too heavy to stay open.
What in God’s name?
She almost beat traffic by driving past the red light, but fortunately, she was able to stop so close to the line.
Being motionless made it worse for her. The dizziness became so overwhelming, all she could think about was going to bed,
When the light turned green and she had to move with the others, she finally agreed that it was moving without risking running into a car or crashing over a bridge.
impossible for her to keep
She managed to get the car to the side of the road, bringing it to a stop. Something was definitely wrong.
She reached for her phone, wanting to call someone–anyone–for help. But the phone could barely make it to her lap before it slipped over, reaching the foot mat.
She groaned slowly and tried to reach for it, but it was useless. The sleep consumed her whole.
