Gareth stood frozen. Eliza had never been this concerned toward him…
He felt he was utterly defeated.
Meanwhile, Elisa almost subconsciously felt an urge to resist Will when he caressed her head. However, she controlled herself, remembering that Gareth was present and knowing that Will was cooperating with her.
Nonetheless, the subtle coldness in her expression couldn't be concealed. "You're not a kid anymore, so please don't recklessly get into a fight."
Will nodded like a child and hummed, "Okay. I won't do this anymore."
The two completely ignored Gareth, who felt his heart wrenched when he witnessed Elisa 'lecturing' Will from behind. At that moment, he was no one but an outsider.
Elisa will no longer be related to him or cross paths with him.
With her back facing Gareth, Elisa had no idea of Gareth's complicated emotions, but Will noticed it.
A wide grin spread across his face as if he had gained victory, and his eyes were filled with provocation. He placed his hand on Elisa's shoulder and asked, "Are you done talking to Old Madam Wickam? If so, we shall go home."
Elisa nodded and answered, "Yeah. Let's go."
"Sure." Will's snobbish grin became more apparent. As he turned to leave, he cast a victorious glance at Gareth. Indeed, to Gareth, Will appeared to be the true winner because he gained Elisa's care and love.
At that thought, Gareth wore a rueful smile.
