Chapter 986 How Ludicrous
Though Norman was filled with rage, he decided to rein his feelings in. When the waiter entered, he took the order and left right after.
The rest of the people remained in the room.
Norman knew he had to bring back the topic that was interrupted moments ago. Otherwise, it would defeat the purpose of being here.
Even though many people were in the room, they were all Elisa's allies.
Gareth and Vincent were buddies, so they would side with Elisa, same with Rachel and Charli.
Hence, there was no need to hold back on the discussion since Elisa would tell them everything afterward.
After a moment of hesitation, Linda looked at Elisa again and said, "Elisa, no matter what, blood is thicker than water. This matter is too sudden for us. We have been thinking it through for the past few days, but you gave us too little time. Why don't we take it easy and stop going to court over this?"
Elisa looked at the three of them incredulously with a conflicted expression.
How can they act as though nothing happened in the court? Putting aside the assets and the profits, I've already submitted evidence regarding Dad's death. They could be sentenced as murderers. Yet, they're here asking me to stop fighting for financial gains?
Elisa couldn't help laughing out loud.
In an instant, the rest of the people looked at her. Some were confused, some were puzzled, and some were grinning.
"What is this, Elisa?" Rose asked, looking at her intently.
Linda was incensed with rage. To her, Elisa was mocking them with her laughter.
After laughing, Elisa said coolly, "I've already submitted evidence to the court about how you killed Dad. Yet, you are asking me to settle this outside of court without any intention of giving me company shares. What on earth is going on in your mind?"
She finished her question with disdain.
At first, Vincent's face was severe and threatening, but at that moment, he couldn't keep up the facade and snorted out laughing.
Who are these stupid relatives of Elisa? They killed her father, yet they still have the audacity to take the shares from her and ask her for a reconciliation. Are they kidding? This is like a kid's show!
Rachel couldn't help herself anymore and scowl at Norman and his family.
"That's right. You killed her father, yet you ask her to concede to your request. Where has your dignity gone?"
Linda's face immediately darkened. "Ms. Markee, you are a lawyer yourself – you should know that you can be sued for slandering our name if you don't have enough evidence."
Rachel laughed coldly. "Feel free to sue me."
Linda is threatening me with the law – how ludicrous! If it were Elisa, I might be worried about it. But Linda? Hmph! Who is she to do that?
"You–" Linda stuttered in anger.
