After Noelle finished speaking, she stared at Frank intently.
His expression went from excitement to hesitation.
Noelle smirked. This was within her expectation.
With that meager honesty, he wanted her to stay in the Liddell family?
Frank couldn't muster any words. How would he choose between the two of them?
Lucas came over and clarified, "Noelle, you're giving us a hard time. We owe you, but it has nothing to do with Xenia, right?"
Noelle snickered. She said that on purpose to see through their disingenuous words.
Xenia gritted her teeth and said, "I can leave. It's fine. Growing up here has been amazing. As long as Noelle agrees to come back, I'm willing to move out."
Donovan was the first to speak out against this. "No way. What would the Liddells look like? Your dad saved Noelle. He went back to save our parents, which was why he died in the accident. How could we abandon you, an orphan?"
They had taken her home to repay his kindness.
Xenia averted her eyes guiltily.
She thought that her dad had passed away. However, the man who contacted her recently seemed very similar to her dad, even though she had only texted him and never saw him before.
If his dad didn't die, who did? Why had he lived in secret all these years? What secrets were buried in the accident?
She'd asked him about it, but he wouldn't answer her questions. He kept asking her for money!
Xenia had her guesses, but she didn't dare to expose herself. If they found out about her, her life as a rich heiress would be over. This secret was suffocating her.
Frank said hoarsely, "Do you have to be so cruel, Noelle?"
"Frank, you must get your head on straight. I wasn't the one who chased me out of the family."
She flung the document at Frank and turned to leave. He tried to catch the papers, but they slipped out of his grasp, as though he tried to keep Noelle by his side but failed.
Donovan was dumbstruck by the document.
He looked at Frank and Lucas. "What happened while I was away? Why has she changed so much?"
If this was the past and he told Noelle to get out, she wouldn't have gone against his wishes! Not only had she left, she also gave him the contract! She'd signed it! This wasn't a grudge. She was for real.
Frank didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Donovan, Noelle is our only biological sister! Why did you say all that?"
