Noelle wondered if he was staying with the company. She thought about what he had said earlier regarding the future prospects. Would they be working on this project together?

Cedric's cool voice cut through her thoughts. "Am I not welcome?"

Standing at the head of the conference table, he looked composed, but a subtle intensity gleamed in his eyes.

Noelle snapped out of her daze. "Of course, you're welcome. It's just..."

"Just what?" he pressed.

"Just unexpected," she admitted. She couldn't help but wonder why he had suddenly decided to change jobs and come to Yasnia.

In her past life, Cedric hadn't stayed a school doctor for long, either. He had likely resigned and joined Maple Enterprise to start his own business.

Now that she thought about it, Cedric's life path hadn't really changed. The one who had changed was her.

She couldn't help but think of the account Cedric used to play on. If they hadn't met in the infirmary, it seemed unlikely that he would be using an alternate account to play games. She then realized that the person playing on that account before might very well have been Magnus.

As she connected the dots, she finally understood why he had always refused when she suggested meeting him. He must have been trying to hide his identity. After gathering her things, Noelle left Maple Enterprise.

Cedric watched her leave, picked up a pen, and signed his name on the contract. Alfred glanced at him.

"Are you personally setting her up with a future billion-dollar company? That's quite the gesture."

The AI project had immense potential. With Cedric quietly backing it, the project would likely succeed and go public.

If it did, Noelle could become a multimillionaire partner in no time, and she would only be 20 years old when that happened.

"Have you never seen real wealth before? This is hardly a big deal," Cedric said, staring at Noelle's delicate handwriting on the contract.
