Startled, Noelle turned to see Frank standing outside the car window and instantly felt a little awkward. What was he doing here?
Cedric's expression darkened after the interruption. The more he saw the Liddells, the more he disliked them.
Frank stood by the car window and furiously pointed at the two. "Get out of the car!"
Noelle wiped the corner of her lips. She'd initially been nervous, but after seeing Frank's expression, she soon calmed down. Then, she rolled down the window and looked at him. "What do you want?"
Her expression was cold, as if Frank was just a stranger. Frank was furious. He glanced at Cedric, who sat beside Noelle. "Noelle, why are you still with him?"
Noelle retorted, "Why can't I be?"
"He's not right for you. He has an unclear background and an ordinary job, and it's clear he's only after your status."
Frank had always been prejudiced against Cedric. The latter used to be a school doctor in their hometown, and now that Noelle came to Yasnia, he followed her here, too. Wasn't it obvious that he was clinging to her?
Noelle scoffed. "I like him no matter who he is."
"Noelle, you're young, and we mistreated you. This man took the chance to get close to you, but I can clearly see that he's not a good person."
"Enough. Whether or not he's a good person is not up to you to decide."
Frank turned to Cedric and warned, "I'm warning you not to lay a finger on Noelle. Otherwise, the Liddells will never let you off."
"The Liddells aren't any better either," Cedric snapped in an ice-cold voice. "She was almost hurt last night. Is this what you mean by taking care of her?
"If this is the care meant by the Liddell family, which could send her to prison for years, who the hell would dare accept your so-called care?"
Frank was momentarily speechless. His hands clenched the car door tightly, and he snapped out of his thoughts to retort, "Last night was an accident."
"Oh? Why does the Liddell family have so many accidents? I hope you all suffer from these accidents one day. There will be no accident as long as Noelle stays by my side."
With that, Cedric started the car and stepped on the gas to speed away.
Frank ran after them. "Get out of the car, Noelle! I need to talk to you!"
