No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 529

Noelle held the membership card, realizing it was for VIP members. She hadn't expected Emma to help her. It felt overwhelming! Not only was Noelle surprised, but Samantha and Xenia were equally taken aback.

Samantha immediately lost her composure. "What are you doing, Mrs. Greene?"

"Do I need to report myself to you? "Why haven't you learned even a fraction of your sister's manners?" She overheard how Samantha had mocked Noelle. What a rude girl.

Samantha teared up but didn't dare to talk back. She couldn't afford to leave a bad impression on Emma and risk bringing her sister down.

Xenia quickly stepped in. "Mrs. Greene, you misunderstood Samantha. She was just reminding Noelle about the rules so she wouldn't embarrass herself by getting stopped at the entrance."

Samantha looked at Xenia gratefully. Thankfully, this country bumpkin spoke on her behalf.

"You'd better hope that's the case." Emma gave Xenia a look. She remembered Xenia's father died in that car accident years ago. So she relented and didn't press the matter further.

Seeing that Emma wasn't pursuing it, Xenia sighed in relief. "Noelle, let's go in together. Don't take Samantha's words to heart. She's just blunt."

Noelle smirked. "Being blunt and intentionally hurting others are two very different things."

Xenia would say anything just to suck up to Samantha.

Emma turned to Noelle. "Please come with me, Ms. Liddell."

Noelle didn't refuse and followed her into the club.

Samantha seethed with frustration. "Since when did that bitch get so close to Mrs. Greene?"

"I'm not sure. Ms. Brown and Mrs. Parham attended the recent charity auction hosted by the Liddell family. Noelle stuck to Mrs. Greene the whole time. She's very good at flattering people." Xenia was fuming with jealousy.

Why was it that no matter how hard she tried to please Emma, she was still met with disdain? Yet Noelle had already won Emma's favor?
