Chapter 507 Thin And Small
Hard to tell?
What's hard to tell?
Sophia cast him a puzzled glance. “What?”
Zephyr fell silent once again.
He had both hands on the steering wheel, his gaze fixed ahead, his expression serious. It was as if the words she thought she had heard earlier were just a figment of her imagination.
Sophia was baffled as she looked away. As she scrolled through a few posts on Twitter, a sudden realization struck her, and she finally grasped what he meant.
She glanced at him, her gaze drifting downward.
As if sensing her gaze, Zephyr suddenly said, “Since you're so curious, why not look at it with your own eyes tonight?”
“I'm not interested in Scaredy-shroom.”
In the game Plants vs Zombies, Scaredy-shroom stood tall and slender. However, whenever it faced zombies, it would shrink back in fear.
“What about Fume-shroom?”
Sophia coughed violently.
An image suddenly flashed across her mind, so startling that she could hardly bear to face it. Annoyed, she shot a glare at Zephyr.
“Just be upfront if you're interested. There's no need to be shy.” Zephyr glanced at her, adjusting his glasses with all seriousness. “I'm simply trying to satisfy your curiosity.”
“Hmph, with your scrawny physique, I'm hardly interested,” Sophia scoffed, changing the subject. “Hey, did you practice combat arts while you were abroad these past few years? You dealt with those three ruffians so quickly the other day.”
Back in high school, Zephyr was somewhat lean and frail.
He still appears thin, but when he raises his arm to grip the steering wheel, the creases in his shirt reveal the firm muscles in his shoulder and upper arm.
“Yeah.” Zephyr nodded. “That was a rather abrupt change of topic. You're clearly interested, so what's the matter? Are you afraid?”
Sophia wasn't going to be baited by his provocation.
“Who says I'm afraid? I just don't want to look at it.”
“You are afraid. I can't believe you've become so timid,” Zephyr said. “I remember you used to drag me to watch adult films...”
After watching, she could still discuss it without blushing.
As the conversation shifted to past events, Sophia's ears turned red with embarrassment. Without thinking, she blurted out, “Fine, I'll look at it!”
She turned her face away, looking out the window. “It's just a mushroom. If you're not afraid of people commenting on how thin and small it is, why should I be afraid?”
“Thin and small?” Zephyr raised an eyebrow. “So many years have passed. The standards have changed. Who was it who kept praising me back then...”
“Back then, I was too young and had seen too little.”
“Really? I recall you recommending a few websites to me back then.”
“Shut up.”
At the Tortell residence, David also knew that Zephyr had gifted his daughter a mansion. Impressed by Zephyr's exceptional abilities, the substantial savings he had amassed in just a few years, and his unwavering devotion to his daughter, David's satisfaction grew.
When Zephyr proposed to David about getting married next month, David was taken aback. “Next month? That's a bit too soon.”
“We're here to inform you today, not to negotiate,” Sophia said indifferently.
“Sophia.” Zephyr played the good cop, giving Sophia a disapproving look before turning to David with a smile. “Mr. Tortell, please don't be upset...”
He relayed the carefully crafted excuses to David.
Upon hearing that Zephyr and Matthew shared a close bond, David felt a surge of joy. However, his happiness was tinged with a hint of worry. “Ms. Xenos has feelings for you? How does Matthew feel about this?”
If Matthew also approved of Zephyr as a son-in-law, wouldn't Zephyr marrying Sophia risk offending the Xenos family?
Both of them were quite attractive, so even an average photographer wouldn't have taken unflattering photos of them.
Sophia's eyes flickered. “Hey, don't you have a spare phone? Let me borrow it for a bit.”
“What are you going to do with it?”
“Is there a problem? Could there be some secret that I'm not allowed to see?” Sophia raised an eyebrow.
With a casual smile, Zephyr handed over his spare phone.
It was the same phone he had previously used to arrange a blind date with Sophia and invite her to the bar.
When Sophia accessed the contact list, she found there was only one entry, and it was her own.
It was as if the spare phone was bought specifically for her.
She updated her profile picture and username on WhatsApp, adjusting the social media settings to make posts visible for only three days. Then, she snapped a photo through the car window and casually posted it to her feed, creating the impression of a primary account.
Zephyr watched her for a while before suggesting, “Shall we go to the supermarket? We need to stock up on some household items for the mansion.”
The mansion was fully furnished, with no shortage of furniture, but items like bedding and kitchenware needed to be purchased separately.
“Okay,” Sophia casually agreed.
Using his spare phone, she sent a message to Lenora's assistant. After waiting a few minutes without receiving a response, she slipped the phone back into her pocket.
With only a month remaining until the wedding, there was much more to handle than just the wedding photos. They needed to try on wedding dresses and suits, find a master of ceremonies, arrange for video recording, plan for candid photography, and more. The coming days were going to be quite busy.
There were quite a few items needed for the new home, and since they were already at the supermarket, the two decided to buy more in one go, saving them time later.
After selecting a few quilts, Sophia glanced at her phone and saw that Milly had replied.
She smiled and typed: Hello, I would like to invite Lenora, the photographer, to take my wedding photos. Could you please tell me if she's available in the next few days?
