Harrietta flashed a mischievous grin.

It wasn't long before the hotel delivered dinner, arranging each dish neatly on the table.

Harrietta extended her small hand, passing a piece of egg tart to Bjorn. “Granddad, have an egg tart.”

“Okay. Carol, you're so considerate,” Bjorn said with a smile. “Make sure you eat too. Don't just fuss over me.”

“Granddad, this salad is really delicious. You should try some...”

“This cheese smells delightful. Granddad, take a bite...”

Zephyr was rendered speechless.

He finally understood why Zachary was willing to risk separating from his wife just to retain custody of the little girl.

Throughout the course of dinner, Bjorn was completely charmed by his doting granddaughter. A smile never once left his face.

Beside him, Avril was inwardly taken aback.

As the patriarch of the Wilson family, Bjorn had always presented himself as a figure of stern resolve. Only in the presence of Meredith and Isla would he reveal a gentler expression. Even Caesare, his long-lost biological son who had been found halfway through his life, could not elicit a single smile from Bjorn.

Unexpectedly, the sudden appearance of Isla's daughter managed to bring such joy to Bjorn.

With sympathy, Avril cast a glance at Zephyr, who was beside him.

After dinner, Harrietta announced her intention to leave, much to the reluctance of Bjorn.

Yet, he couldn't blame Zachary for seizing the initiative. Zachary's position in his beloved granddaughter's heart was unrivaled and unshakeable.

The beloved granddaughter was incredibly understanding. Seeing the somber expression on Bjorn's face, she took his hand and comforted him, “Granddad, if you miss me in the future, you can always come to visit me.”

Bjorn was even more reluctant to part. “Carol, don't forget to discuss with your father about staying in Fairlake for a while once you get back.”

Though he told her to discuss it with Zachary, he had already made up his mind. If Zachary dared to refuse, he would personally go and discuss it with him instead.

“I will.”

Bjorn accompanied Harrietta to the underground garage, personally seeing her off as she got into the car.

Sitting in the backseat of the car, Harrietta lowered the window and waved at Bjorn. “Goodbye, Granddad. You should head in now.”

“I'll go up after you leave,” Bjorn said reluctantly, his gaze lingering on Harrietta in the car. After that, the car window glass obstructed his view.

Bjorn's expression darkened.

Harrietta wanted to comfort Bjorn further, but unexpectedly, the car window rolled up on its own.

Harrietta paused, casting a puzzled look toward Zephyr, who was in the driver's seat up front.

Zephyr started the car, catching a glimpse of her through the rearview mirror. In a serious tone, he warned, “You're still young. It's very dangerous to keep the car window open while driving.”

Harrietta looked out through the one-way glass window at Bjorn's gloomy expression and understood. Uncle Zephyr is deliberately trying to annoy Granddad!

The car drove out of the underground parking garage.

After giving it some thought, Harrietta said, “Uncle Zephyr, could I borrow your phone? I need to make a call to Uncle Zachary.”
