Everyone walked eagerly into the billiards hall, only to find Wilhelmina, along with Nelson and his friends, already playing snooker.
It seemed Nelson was extremely skilled at billiards, as his friends couldn't last more than a few rounds against him. Wilhelmina was also quite good at the game. Among their friends, she had played the most rounds with Nelson, but in the end, she was still defeated.
Nelson looked confident and arrogant. When he saw Jack and his friends walk into the hall, he shot them a challenging glance.
"You're good at games, huh? But snooker? I'll play against you with one hand."
Nearby, a tall, skinny guy spat on the ground in frustration and muttered, "Why do we always run into losers wherever we go?"
Cody Schmidt, who had a duck tattoo on his face, pointed at Jack and his friends. "Hey, what are you staring at? Yeah, I'm talking to you. Come over here. Do you dare to play a couple of rounds of snooker with us?"
Since they couldn't beat Jack in video games, they hoped to challenge him in snooker to prove themselves.
Wilhelmina crossed her arms, waiting to see if Jack would take the bait. She was eager to beat him at the table and settle her frustration from earlier.
Cody pointed at him, and Leo immediately retorted in irritation, "Who are you pointing at?"
Leo and his friends had never been afraid of anyone in the city.
The guy with the tattoo was about to lose his temper but was stopped by Wilhelmina, who raised a hand to intervene.
Wilhelmina scoffed at Jack and asked, "Are you a man? Do you have the guts to play two rounds with us?"
"First of all, do you want to test out in bed to know if I'm a man? I guarantee you won't be able to get out of bed for a few days. And do you think you can just order me to play? Who do you think you are?"
Jack wasn't about to be polite to Wilhelmina, and he certainly didn't feel the need to act gentlemanly.
Still, if she refused now, wouldn't it seem like they lacked confidence? And besides, they were the ones who had been provoked in the first place.
Nelson had been playing snooker since he was a kid. If his father hadn't forced him to study abroad at Oxfard University, he might've already become a world-renowned snooker champion.
Just as she was hesitating, Nelson suddenly raised his voice and said, "Deal! I like this wager. I expect to hear you say 'Daddy' loud and clear when you lose later."
Seeing Nelson accept the challenge so eagerly, Wilhelmina said no more. She had full confidence in Nelson's skills and was itching to see Jack humiliated.
"Jack, I can't wait to see how you embarrass your whole family when you lose," she said with a sneer.
Wilhelmina even had a secret plan—when Jack was on his knees calling Nelson "Daddy", she'd record it on her phone and post it online for the world to see. Let the shame rain down on him. Let him be a disgrace to the Lycan family.
There was no need to waste any more time. It was a best-of-five match, which meant only the strongest from each side would face off. And without question, it would be Jack versus Nelson.
