A Man with Nerves of Steel (Joseph Hart) novel Chapter 119

Chapter 119

Joseph stopped by the hospital first and purchased some medicines before returning to his laboratory. That evening, when he got home, he noticed that Cora wasn’t there. As he thought that she was with her lover, he couldn’t help but snicker.

“Is your lover really that important that you don’t even bother coming home anymore? Why won’t you divorce me then? What are you thinking? You betrayed me, yet you refuse to apologize and end the marriage. Sooner or later, you’ll pay the price for it!” Joseph muttered.

Joseph’s heart had turned cold. After dinner, he went straight to his study. Not long afterward, Mavis’ subordinate sent over the patient’s medical records.

Although the patient’s name had been redacted, the rest of the information remained intact. The patient was a man in his early 80s suffering from acute leukemia.

Acute leukemia progressed rapidly. Without chemotherapy, the patient could only live up to six months. Three months had already passed since the onset of this patient’s illness, yet he hadn’t undergone chemotherapy.

The patient also suffered from several chronic conditions. Chemotherapy could potentially worsen those illnesses and accelerate his death instead.

Joseph spent two hours studying the records. By the end, he already had a rough treatment strategy in mind. However, without personally examining the patient, he couldn’t draw any conclusions.
