After work, Joseph walked out of his office and immediately spotted a familiar face he had no desire to see.

It was Ella.

Joseph said, “What are you doing here?”

Ella replied, “Mrs. Lowell asked me to bring you over. Her exact words were that I should use force if I had to. Of course, I’d rather not hurt you, so please don’t make things difficult for me.”

Joseph glanced around. “And if I refuse? This is a hospital. Are you going to attack me now?”

Ella shrugged. “I could if I wanted to, because the security cameras in this area have already been turned off. But I don’t want to, so I’ll just wait for you to change your mind.

“But Mr. Hart, Kimberly hasn’t been eating or drinking. She’s adamant that she wants to see you. You may be angry with Mrs. Lowell, but the child hasn’t done anything wrong.”

Joseph looked at her. “You’ve improved in the few days I haven’t seen you. It’s just a pity that you’re blind enough to work for Cora.”

When Joseph reached the parking garage, he noticed that several movable surveillance cameras were pointing away from their usual positions. It didn’t need much thought to know that Walt was meddling again.

Joseph wasn’t planning to keep avoiding the situation forever.

In the end, he got into the car with Ella and headed to Helen’s house.

The moment Helen saw him, her expression darkened. “So you finally decided to show up. Why didn’t you just die somewhere outside?”

“If I’m not welcome, then maybe I should.” Joseph immediately turned to leave.

“Stop right here! Without my permission, you’re not taking a single step out of that door. Otherwise, I’ll have someone break your legs!” Helen shouted furiously before turning toward Ella.

Joseph ignored her and walked into the house. Soon, he found Kimberly. Her hair was a mess, and her eyes were swollen and red from crying.

The sight sent a stab of pain through his chest. He had the other housekeeper bring food, then he sat Kimberly down. “Eat right now!”

Kimberly shook her head. “Dad, feed me!”
