A Man with Nerves of Steel (Joseph Hart) novel Chapter 151

Chapter 151

Joseph doubled back to the ICU Department office and made do with the cramped space for the night.

But when he woke up before dawn and headed for the parking lot again, Ella intercepted him once more.

Joseph said in exasperation, “You really are a bitch, aren’t you?”

“Keep provoking me, and I might just beat you up! If Ms. Lowell hadn’t specifically told me not to, I’d have dealt. with you a long time ago!” Ella clenched her fists tightly, causing her knuckles to crack. She looked at Joseph arrogantly.

“So even dogs bite their owners these days. The world really has changed.” Joseph hadn’t expected a mere housekeeper to be so bold.

“One last warning. Insult me again, and I really will punch you!” Ella growled through gritted teeth, barely/ restraining herself.

There was a glint in Joseph’s eyes. He’d suddenly thought of a way to deal with Ella. Unfortunately, he couldn’t do it himself. After returning to his office, he contacted Grace and asked her to send him someone.

Grace agreed without hesitation. After 20 minutes, she sent over an ordinary-looking middle-aged man. After testing the man’s strength, he estimated that he’d probably still lose to that guy even if there were three of him.

The plan was then set in motion.

Joseph returned to the parking lot and deliberately provoked Ella, repeatedly insulting her until she finally lost her temper and chased after him. He led her through a narrow passageway beyond the reach of the surveillance cameras.

There, the middle-aged man was hiding behind a door. The man struck without warning and knocked her unconscious.

“By all rights, she won’t wake up for four hours,” the man said after examining her, confirming that she was merely unconscious and in no danger of dying.

“I know.” Joseph had the middle-aged man leave. Then, he used some acupuncture techniques on Ella to ensure she would remain deeply unconscious. Afterward, he summoned some medical staff and transferred her to a hospital room for treatment.

Joseph then went home. Kimberly was home, but Cora was nowhere to be found, which only strengthened his belief that Cora was with her lover.
