When Joseph woke up agam, he didn’t say another word to Cora. He got dressed and walked right out without even saying goodbye to the kids.

He went to check on the patient from last night’s surgery first. As the patient was out of the woods and most likely wouldn’t suffer any post-op complications, the next stage would be recovery.

He then went to see Frank. Joseph was confident he could get the man to talk, but he was in no hurry.

He wanted to achieve two things-make Frank talk and ensure he’d keep his mouth shut afterward.

Around noon, he received the latest intel on Frank’s wife and his son. Joseph figured the time was right to lay his cards on the table, so he headed to Frank’s hospital room. Only the two of them were there.

Joseph got straight to the point. “Things aren’t looking good for your wife and son. But your son still has a chance to recover…”

He watched Frank’s vacant eyes suddenly light up with life. Frank tried to write something, but he couldn’t even hold a pen steady.

After Joseph applied a few acupuncture needles to Frank, Frank’s trembling hand gradually steadied. He was finally able to hold a pen and write, “Save my son.”

“Your son isn’t in this hospital, and my reach only goes so far. You know how ruthless the Croma faction can be. If they find out I’m helping you, they won’t let me off easily. I have no obligation to risk my neck for you. Unless, of course, you give me something in return.”

Frank wrote, “I can give you all the money you want.”

“Jeez, do I look like I need money? I want to know who Cora’s been messing around with.”

“A fortune teller. They call him the Patron.”

“A fortune teller? Who is he exactly? Give me a name, an address, anything that can help me track down that bastard.”

“Warren Huff. Sunnybrook Estates. Joseph, please save my son.”

“I’ll do what I can.”

“I’ll give you a lot of money, so please save him.”

“You don’t need to give me money. Just keep it for your son.”
