A Man with Nerves of Steel (Joseph Hart) novel Chapter 204

Chapter 204

Though Fiona was momentarily dumbfounded, she was quick to regain her composure. She ordered the security guards and the bodyguards to drag Josephto Cora’s office.

The overpowered Joseph was forced down onto the couch. Still seething with anger, he kicked the mahogany coffee table, breaking its finely carved latticework.

“Let him go. I’d like to see what his problem is.”

Cora appeared, her face a mix of confusion and cold displeasure. She was absolutely furious at Joseph for causing such a scene.

Joseph stood up and kicked the table again. Blowing off the steam helped him calm down a bit.

He then told Fiona and the others to leave as he wanted to confront Cora alone.

Joseph asked point-blank, “Are you going to agree to the divorce or not?”

“You came all the way here to make a scene just to ask that? Let me make this clear. You could tear this entire building to the ground, and I still wouldn’t divorce you!”

Cora glared at him, a mix of rage and mockery in her eyes. She had long since figured out Joseph’s intentions.

“Cora, all the dirty things you’ve been doing behind my back are out in the open now. You can’t cover it up anymore!”

Stepping forward, Joseph grabbed Cora by the collar of her blazer, glaring right back at her with equal parts fury and disdain.

He continued, “Now I know why you refuse to believe the results of the DNA tests. It’s not that you’re scared to admit the kids aren’t mine. It’s that your fucking brain has been washed by that so-called fortune-teller.

“You’re so superstitious that you’ve lost your mind! Whether he told you to take care of the fish, keep turtles, or even have his children, you did everything he asked.

“Cora, I never would’ve guessed you’d let yourself get played by a charlatan!”

“W-What nonsense are you spouting?”

There was panic in Cora’s eyes, though there was also an unexpected hint of relief.

“I’m talking about Warren Huff! So that’s the kind of man you’ve been seeing? Did you really think you could hide it from me forever? So, are we getting a divorce or not?”

“Never!”

“You’re still refusing to do it? You think I won’t just kill you?”

“Joseph, I told you. If you want to prove I cheated, show me the evidence. If you can’t, then I’m not divorcing you! Go ahead and kill me if you dare!”
