Joseph resisted the temptation. His future was still uncertain, and Rosalie could not protect herself. The last thing he should do was drag her deeper into his troubles.

Since she couldn’t win him over, she felt disappointed. Just as he had said, if she wanted him to take responsibility for her, she would first have to become his woman.

However, he had refused, and there was nothing she could do. She couldn’t make a scene. If she did, he might actually stop caring for her and Brooke.

“What are you talking about? Haven’t you completely woken up?” Rosalie was confused.

“Only a monk could sit with a beautiful woman in his lap without touching her. Any normal man would have made a move on you already. Dad is too honorable. On the other hand, you’re hopeless. Couldn’t you come up with a plan?” Brooke questioned.

“What are you scheming this time? You drugged me last time. If it weren’t for him, you would have ruined me. You think you’re clever, but if you offend him again, he might stop caring about either of us,” said Rosalie, thinking that only Joseph could keep Brooke, who was rebellious, under control.

“I have my own plan. When the time comes, you two will end up together. You’ll get yourself a husband, and I’ll get myself a father. Everyone wins,” replied Brooke.

“You know quite a lot, but don’t do anything reckless. Go to sleep,” instructed Rosalie.

Rosalie started thinking. Maybe she really should come up with a plan. If she kept waiting for Joseph to make the first move, who knew how many years would pass. Even if he never took responsibility afterward, she had resolved her desires at the very least.

Meanwhile, Joseph had no idea that Rosalie, who had suddenly entered his life, was secretly plotting against him. The next morning, he left as usual.

After the meeting ended, Joseph received a call from the police. Kyle had suddenly become violently agitated, displaying symptoms of psychosis. Kyle’s family was requesting a psychiatric evaluation, and the police wanted Joseph’s professional opinion.

Joseph understood what was happening. Either Kyle was faking it, or someone had given him drugs that induced psychosis. Joseph told the police to send Kyle to the hospital.

On the way to the hospital, the police administered a sedative to calm Kyle down. By the time Kyle arrived at Joseph’s department, Kyle was still unconscious.

After conducting an examination, Joseph quickly found the cause. As expected, Kyle had been given drugs specifically intended to trigger psychotic symptoms. Using a combination of medication and acupuncture treatment, Joseph neutralized the effects within a short time.

Kyle continued pretending to sleep, but Joseph wasn’t fooled. Joseph told Kyle that he shouldn’t think that he

“Who are you? Why are you targeting me? What do you want?” Kyle questioned upon opening his eyes.

Kyle stared at Joseph coldly. If Joseph hadn’t restored Kyle’s sanity, Kyle would have passed the psychiatric evaluation and been sent home. Then, he would take the antidote and walk away as though nothing had happened.

Joseph didn’t waste another word on Kyle. Joseph handed Kyle back to the police for questioning.

Once Joseph arrived at his office, he gave Cora a call and asked, “Was giving Kyle drugs to induce a psychotic episode your idea or the man backing you? Either way, you’ll have to come up with another plan.

“I’ve already treated him. He’ll still face trial. If he decides to name names, none of you are getting away with it.”
