As soon as Joseph hung up, he scoffed inwardly. What did Cora mean by driving her into a corner? Did he force her to cheat, to have bastard children?

She was the one who created this mess. And yet, not only was she refusing to divorce him, but now she was accusing him of forcing her to do things.

Joseph was well aware that a woman as conceited as Cora would never give in until the consequences were right in front of her.

Only by exposing her lover and stripping her of everything would she finally face her problems.

If nothing was done, given her wealth and influence, she would only become more convinced that she was above the law, as if she was some kind of queen.

Joseph genuinely just wanted to cuss her out.

Theodore looked utterly discouraged after finishing Frank’s treatment. He walked over to Joseph and said, “If we can’t figure something out in the next few days, I’ll have to give up on treating Frank and leave him like this.”

Joseph didn’t give an immediate response. Instead, he went over Frank’s treatment plan and medication records. Upon spotting a sudden change in the prescription, he asked, “Are you planning to take a gamble?”

“Yeah, I figured I’d take a chance. It’s also what the family wanted. His wife’s been doing a bit better lately, so she’s been desperately looking for treatments and medications for Frank. I actually caught her trying to sneak him some drugs last time.”

“She did what? We can’t have that happening.”

Joseph took this matter very seriously. He immediately had Paige ban Frank’s wife, Emma Lynch, from doing any more caregiving. At the same time, he ordered a new batch of tests for Frank, which detected traces of brain- stimulating drugs still lingering in his system.

He then tweaked Frank’s treatment himself, making sure that Frank wouldn’t wake up without his intervention. In fact, he even deliberately muddled Frank’s mind.

After that, he and Theodore reported their progress to the higher-ups. Joseph made sure to express his concern about the family sneaking in unauthorized medication, practically laying the groundwork to shift the blame later.

He had a late-night surgery scheduled that evening, so he just stayed at the hospital.

The next afternoon, he got a call to organize a special consultation. It turned out that Zachary had suddenly passed out, and his wife, Yasmin, had rushed him to the hospital.

Joseph first performed a thorough examination on Zachary, then reviewed the results with the other specialists before they hashed it out together.

He told Yasmin, “I can’t say with 100% certainty, but basically, Mr. Yeager passed out because his drinking and excessive stress spiked his blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar. It’s nothing serious. He just needs to clean up his diet and get some rest.

“Other than that, he’s in great shape and has no other issues.”

Yasmin had sent the test results to their family’s doctor, who had also said there wasn’t anything serious. Hearing Joseph say the same thing finally put her mind at ease.

Joseph continued, “I hear there’s a really nice rehab facility in Croma. I’d recommend Mr. Yeager head there to recover for a while.”

“Alright. I’ll talk to him when he wakes up. He won’t agree to rest unless he hands off his work first. Oh, by the way, my mother-in-law mentioned your acupuncture is amazing and really helps people relax. But I noticed it’s not in his treatment plan. Why is that?”

“Personally, I don’t think it’s necessary because Mr. Yeager is in very good health. This episode was purely brought on by alcohol and excessive work.

“As long as he stays away from those two things for a bit, he will bounce right back. But of course, if you want him to receive acupuncture, I can easily include it.”
