Chapter 308
Right now, Joseph was the head of the medical team at Jenton University Hospital. Given his excellent medical skills, no one would gossip about his family scandal right in front of him, but they definitely talked about it
behind his back.
Whenever he ran into certain people, he sensed that their friendliness was only superficial, and he saw the contempt hidden in their eyes.
As long as Cora refused to admit she had cheated, apologize to Joseph, and agree to a divorce, the shame grew heavier on him every day. It only made him even more determined to make those who had humiliated him pay the price.
Back then, all he wanted was a divorce and to cut ties with Cora. They would go their own separate ways and live their own lives peacefully, but she didn’t want that.
Cora even tried to use the Lowells’ influence to force Joseph to accept the reality that the children weren’t his, and he should continue living a happy life with her.
Well, Joseph wanted none of that.
Lately, the Croma faction had come to Jenton to strike back against the Lowells and the other families, making Joseph realize that Cora and her family weren’t actually as powerful as he had assumed.
Not long after, he even teamed up with Belinda to set Cora’s company on fire. That made him realize that Cora was nothing special at all.
Right now, Joseph had shifted his attention to the Townes, the Zahns, and other families, particularly the Zahns.
Since Cora had been interested in the man and was even willing to have children with him, the Zahn men became the biggest suspects.
Joseph already collected biological samples from the late Barry, the arrogant Wallace, and a few other Zahn men who fit the age range. He then ran them against his daughters’ samples, but none of them were a biological match.
“I didn’t do anything like that, so I don’t care what people say!” Cora exclaimed on the other end of the phone.
“Of course, you don’t care, because you don’t work here. Since you act like you’re above all of this, why did you delete all the posts I made on your company’s network? You’re worried that your colleagues will gossip about you too, right?”
“That’s not true…”
Joseph chuckled. “In your opinion, anything that makes you look bad isn’t the truth. But to me, every bit of it is real!
“Natalie, Selena; and Kimberly aren’t my daughters. And people even think I had been fooling around in the hospital dorm. My reputation is already in tatters, and it’s all thanks to you!”
“Then you don’t have to go to work anymore. Come home, and I’ll provide for you, just like before. Weren’t we happy back then?”
“We’ve spent the last ten-plus years living a lie. Of course, we were happy! What a pity. A lie is a lie. It’ll eventually fall apart. I’m done talking to you. Come over to the hospital and take your daughter home.”
After ending the call, Joseph went back to work while Helen returned to the hospital to take Kimberly home.

Once Cora was home, Helen immediately started complaining. “Joseph’s such a bastard! He completely embarrassed me!
“You can’t keep that man around in your life anymore! Cora, stop clinging to your fantasies. If it’s time to walk away, so be it!”
Joseph refused to even come out and see Helen. He simply had his nurse bring Kimberly to her and told her to drop by Jenton Psychiatric Hospital the next day.
