Chapter 312
Joseph and Cora parted on bad terms. Even though she seemed calm on the surface, she had a lot on her mind.
He had already made it very clear. He planned to uncover the truth behind her affair and had no intention of forgiving her. That was what she feared the most.
Back in his office, Joseph let out a long sigh of relief. He had already made it very clear to Cora. If they truly care to blows one day, he could at least say that he had already warned her in advance.
Cora had only two choices. Either she came clean on her own, and he would make her lovers pay for it. Or she could continue hiding the truth, and he would find out who her lovers were and make them pay the price.
Joseph would rather kill the wrong man than let Cora’s lovers get away with it.
After finishing a cigarette, he went off to perform another surgery. By the time he was done, it was already past midnight, so he spent the night at the department.
Joseph spent the entire night dreaming of the happy days he once had with Cora. They walked hand in hand through the meadow, leaning against each other as they watched the sunrise and sunset and counted the stars together.
Beneath the moon and the stars, they lay on the ground and held each other close, lost in a blissful moment.
But when Joseph woke up, he did not start his day immediately. Instead, he found his pillowcase damp with tears.
Even in his sleep, he couldn’t escape the grief; tears had quietly tracked down his cheeks again.
Joseph took a moment to regain his composure before washing up. After having something to eat, he started work.
Later, Mason called to inform him that Frank had passed away at the Traditional Medicine Center around 2:00 am, despite the doctors’ attempts to save him.
“If the Ashmores had just trusted our hospital instead of transferring Frank… While I couldn’t guarantee he’d wake up, at least I could have kept him alive,” Joseph said, letting out a heavy sigh that was pure theater.
After ending the call, Joseph reached out to his contact at the Traditional Medicine Center and learned that Jenna and her associates tried to save Frank throughout the night, but they were unsuccessful.
Ever since Frank had been transferred to the Traditional Medicine Center, he remained in a coma and never regained consciousness before he died.
Later, Joseph got his hands on Frank’s death certificate. The causes of death were brain death, myocardial infarction, and multiple organ failure.
Frank was never meant to survive. After all, the Croma faction never would have let him live. They wanted to make an example out of him to warn everyone else.
Of course, Frank’s fortune was also his downfall. The Ashmores’ wealth was in his hands, and once they got what they wanted, they would have still killed him.
Joseph had no grudge against Frank, but that man shouldn’t have slept with Cora.
Deep down, Joseph felt guilty for thinking that way, but he couldn’t deny the faint satisfaction within him.
That was the satisfaction of revenge.
When Jenna’s call came through, Joseph was a little surprised, but he still answered.

Jenna spoke first. “Joseph, aren’t you ruthless? Now that Frank’s dead, you’ve won again!”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. But if we’re really going to talk about that, I find it really strange.
“Maurice Towne is in your care. How is it you can’t do anything to revive him? Is the Zahn medical sect famous only in name?
“If that’s all you’re capable of, how do you expect to compete with me in medicine?” Of course, Joseph had no intention of admitting anything, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t provoke Jenna. After all, she was the one who started the competition.
