After ending the call with Jenna, Joseph received a call from Katie saying that Kenneth had been poisoned and was unconscious. Kenneth’s condition was critical.

Joseph told Katie to send Kenneth to the ICU. Then, Joseph remembered what the female teacher had said. Kenneth would poison himself. So, how did his condition become this severe?

After examining Kenneth, Joseph realized there was another poison in Kenneth’s body. The two poisons were interacting with each other, amplifying each other’s effects and pushing Kenneth to the brink of death.

Joseph muttered, “This idiot wouldn’t have poisoned himself repeatedly. It seems that someone else poisoned him. Was it the Zahn family?”

Joseph couldn’t figure it out, but there was no time to dwell on it. He went to save Kenneth first. After working for two hours, he finally stabilized Kenneth.

Once Kenneth was transferred to observation, Joseph called Katie aside. Joseph explained the second poison he had discovered. Katie had no idea about it.

Katie said, “I’ve never heard of this poison before. Did someone deliberately give it to Kenneth?”

Joseph replied, “I’m certain they did. You should look into it when you get back. You can also let Jenna know and ask her to help. If she refuses to help, the Zahn medical sect must be behind it.

“If she does everything she can to investigate, it means they’re worried an outsider is behind it. If that’s the case, they’ll want to eliminate that threat.”

After giving Katie a few more instructions, Joseph received a call from Mason. The conversation was brief. Traditional Medicine Center was transferring three poisoned patients over, and Joseph had to take over their

treatment.

When Joseph looked through the patients’ files, he learned that they were all Marla’s relatives. Not only had she requested the transfer, but Jenna had specially transferred them.

They truly had no shame. They actually dumped the patients at Jenton University Hospital.

Joseph went to examine the patients first. It was only then that he realized that they hadn’t been poisoned with just one poison. Alongside Kenneth’s poison was another unidentified poison.

Jenna and the others hadn’t neutralized the other poison, so they couldn’t save the three patients.

Once Joseph confirmed the diagnosis, he immediately called Jenna. He complained, “You truly are shameless. When you’re incapable of saving someone, you wait until they’re practically dying before dumping them on me.

“Is this how you compete with me? What despicable tactics! I can’t believe someone who looks refined could have such a filthy heart!”

“Joseph, stop slandering me!” Jenna yelled.

She clenched her phone so tightly it looked like she might crush it. Losing to Joseph in medicine was humiliating enough. Now, she was being falsely accused and ridiculed on top of it. It was infuriating.

After making Jenna angry, Joseph dialed Marla’s number and asked, “Your family is dying, yet you’re still refusing to come back. What are you so busy with? Why are you so afraid to come home? Who threatened you?”

Marla pleaded, “Joseph, please stop asking. If I could, I would kneel before you right now. Please save my family.”
