A Man with Nerves of Steel (Joseph Hart) novel Chapter 395

Chapter 395

At around 8:00 pm, Peyton brought someone into Joseph’s office. It was Yara.

Joseph looked Yara over. As a 38-year-old, she had the air of a mature, sophisticated woman about her.

At first glance, she was stunning, easily the most beautiful woman Joseph had ever seen, second only to Cora. Though, of course, Yara wasn’t as well-endowed as Cora.

But after taking a closer look, he noticed her nose and eyes looked a little unnatural. There were obvious signs of cosmetic work.

Joseph compared the information in Yara’s file with the woman before him. She looked like the photo he had of her. And the way she spoke to him was identical to the voice he’d heard earlier that morning.

Joseph told Peyton to wait outside. After putting on a pair of gloves, he slapped Yara hard across the face. /

Yara’s first instinct was to fight back, but before she could, Joseph slapped her again. It was immediately clear he was way stronger than she was. And the icy, emotionless look in his eyes genuinely frightened her.

She lost her nerve. Slumping onto the couch, she shot Joseph a resentful look. “Why’d you hit me?”

“Tell me why you are after Natalie, Selena, and Kimberly’s blood.”

Yara stayed silent.

“You’re not going to talk? Fine. You had your chance to do this the easy way.””

Joseph grabbed the medical kit next to him and popped it open. The lid was lined with rows of acupuncture needles, scalpels, and other medical instruments.

“I have a vat of strong acid in the lab downstairs. I’m going to remove your limbs one by one, then dissolve them one at a time.”

“T-That’s illegal.”

“Oh, so now you remember the law? Why didn’t you think about the law when you drew the children’s blood and put their lives at risk?”

“I just wanted to take a little bit of their blood. Something like that wouldn’t have killed them! Don’t just accuse me of a crime!”

“Glad you admitted to it. Since you think it’s so harmless, I’ll take some of your blood too.”

Joseph pinned Yara down and inserted acupuncture needles into her body. Before long, she was frozen in place on the couch, unable to move her hands or feet. She had completely lost sensation from the neck down.

Joseph then checked her pulse to gauge her overall health. He couldn’t have her die on him due to some unknown medical condition while he was using too much force.

Yara watched in horror as Joseph actually started drawing her blood. The little blood bag was slowly filling up, expanding.

He was literally bleeding her out! If he kept going, she’d bleed to death! Panic set in.

“Joseph, stop this.”

Joseph ignored her. He simply went over to the window, casually smoking a cigarette.

Yara’s fear intensified. “Joseph, you’ve got me scared. I was wrong! I shouldn’t have gone after Cora’s children. Please, let me go!”

Joseph remained unmoved.

“If you kill me, you won’t get any answers!”

Joseph still showed no reaction.

“Joseph, you call yourself a man? How could you do this to a helpless woman like me? Some man you are!”

Tears streamed down Yara’s face as she shouted. As for Joseph, he merely took another drag of his cigarette, as if he hadn’t heard a word.
