Chapter 397
Yara let out a pathetic, chilling laugh. Then, a crack sounded, followed by Yara’s piercing scream as her jaw was dislocated.
Cora immediately let go. Seeing Yara’s jaw hanging slack freaked her out a little. “Honey, s-she’s just making all of that up. I-I didn’t do any of that. What do we do now? Should we take her to the hospital?”
Joseph looked at Cora with even more disgust. “I’ll verify everything she said myself! The only reason you refuse to divorce me is that you’re dead sure I don’t have any proof, right? Well, the people she just named are now all suspects you may have had affairs with!”
Cora’s eyes filled with anger, disappointment, and a hint of fear. “You’re taking her word over mine?”
“I don’t believe either of you!” Joseph stood up, walked over to Yara, and looked her in the eye. “You can still talk. So tell me which man in the Zahn family slept with my wife?”
“Honey, don’t listen to her nonsense. Not a single word out of her mouth is true. She’s just trying to drive a wedge between us,” Cora said hurriedly.
“Shut your mouth, or I’ll shut it for you,” Joseph snapped, shooting her an icy glare.
Tears were streaming down Yara’s face from the pain, but she wouldn’t utter a single word. Instead, she fixed Joseph with a cold stare.
She had never wanted to kill someone so badly in her entire life. Even if she got out of here alive today, the man before her would forever haunt her dreams. She wanted nothing more than to kill him.
Joseph popped Yara’s jaw back into place. “You’ve got some bone density issues there. Were you malnourished as a child? Or is it from being under constant, high-level stress? Or maybe it’s from being hell-bent on harming others?”
“Don’t get too cocky, Joseph. If you ever fall into my hands, I’ll make you suffer ten times as much as I did today,” Yara said through gritted teeth.
“Do you even know what I did to you today?” Joseph countered.
“Whatever you did to me, I’ll do to you. This isn’t over!”
Yara felt a sudden, inexplicable chill deep down. Had Joseph done something else to her without her realizing it?
Joseph let out a scoff. “If I can catch you today, I can catch you tomorrow, and the day after that. So threatening me is pointless. Why don’t you just tell me who Natalie’s biological father is?”
And what he had actually done to Yara went way beyond just the needles and the blood.
“Don’t you dare make things up, Yara Zahn! People could die over this!” Cora warned Yara.
Yara coldly remarked, “Joseph Hart, Natalie’s biological father is my own father! Your wife offered herself to him on his 60th birthday. If she didn’t, she’d be nothing today.”
“That’s a filthy lie! I’m going to beat the hell out of you!” Cora roared.
Joseph told Cora to shut it again, then turned back to Yara. “And who is your father?”
“Edmund Zahn.”
Joseph searched his memory. There really was an Edmund Zahn on the Zahn family roster. He was 79 years old
1/2
this year.
If Cora had slept with him on his 60th birthday and conceived Natalie then, the timeline fit perfectly.
Yara turned her gaze to Cora. “You ungrateful bitch. If it weren’t for my family, do you think your family would’ve made that kind of money? We made you the richest woman in the city!
